The Namibian Defence Force wasresponsible for the planning and arrangementthereof. This naval exercise was executed inNamibia over the period 02 August 2010 to 18August 2010. The main purpose was to ensureco-operation with countries sharing the sameoceans in order to provide for safer Sea Lines ofCommunication. The relevant navies of theSouthern African Development Community participatedin a Command Post Exercise (CPX)with the purpose to exercise the necessary proceduresfor guiding of ships in the Indian andAtlantic Oceans. It was attended by nine SANDFmembers and no SANDF main equipment wasutilisedExercise ATLASUR was an exercise between thenavies of SA, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.A Senior Staff Officer from the Joint OperationsDivision attended the final planning conferencein Argentina over the period 28 June 2010 to 02July 2010.
