RICHARD ALLEN SCOTT THROUGH THE YEARS There were many ‘command performances’ that, as an Officer, I had to attend with Sharon. This one was Police Appreciation Day at the Salvation Army church in November, 1990. I got a parking ticket in the parkade beside the place…and wrote the company a nasty letter and refused to pay it. Didn’t hear anything further. So much for police appreciation. The kids quickly settled into their respective schools and continued with their athletic achievements and made friends in no time. I must say they were superbly resilient. In December, we attended the Beausejour Sub- Division Regimental Ball, with the CO and Commissioner, Norm Inkster. RICHARD ALLEN SCOTT THROUGH THE YEARS 1991 New Years Day was a ‘command performance’ no matter how badly you felt after New Years Eve. The Officer cadre was required to attend all the military levees held at the various Officers’ Messes throughout the city. There were many. Since drinking was involved, we were each provided with a car and driver. Off to the Levees – Jan 1, 1991 My jello cake – 43 years old - Feb 25, 1991 The C.O., Assistant Commissioner Dale Henry retired in June, and was replaced by Assistant Commissioner Dick Bergman. A formal dinner followed the public Change of Command ceremony. Watching the parade Timothy, Christopher, and Robyne all were servers at this and subsequent formal affairs throughout our stay in Winnipeg. June 2017 172
