THROUGH THE YEARS
The social life was non-stop. In October, we attended a ‘do’ at
Government House, residence of the Lieutenant Governor of
the Province, where the Corps

was presented to the C.O.
Government House
Tim turned 16 this year and received the keys to the
car and the house!
In November, the RCMP jet was scheduled to fly
from Winnipeg to Ottawa, and return, so I booked Sharon and the twins on it for a free trip to
see their grandparents in Ottawa.
Had a great flight there, but were told just prior to
their departure for home that the plane wouldn’t be
flying as it had developed a malfunction.
Many hundreds of dollars and days later, and with
horror stories galore, they arrived back in Winnipeg
on the Greyhound bus, unimpressed.
