THROUGH THE YEARS
A 1965 view of Uplands Way looking down the hill
from 55. Grandpa had an allotment at the bottom of
the hill. He used to put me in a wheelbarrow and
roll me down so I could play in the brook that flowed
through the little park while he tended his vegetable
garden.
According to my late Uncle Brian, he and a friend
used to push me down the hill in a cart….and
laugh….and see where I landed. Cruel uncle.
Below is the same view of Uplands Way in 2012….
note all the cars on the street now.

course and had a small brook flowing at
the bottom of the garden.
