THROUGH THE YEARS
This summer we went to see Tim, who had just
completed his 2 nd year, participate in the graduation
parade. A massive and impressive display of redcoats.
Sharon and I decided to visit Phil and Jean in Rhode Island
once again, so off we went for our 22 nd anniversary.
On the boardwalk at one
the beautiful beaches one
day, as we were leaving, I
remember getting a bug
bite on my foot.
That evening I was not
feeling good at all, and by
the morning was in pretty
bad shape. So much so,
that Sharon had to put
me in the car and drive
me straight back to
Ottawa. I slept most of
the way. She took me
straight to the hospital where I was immediately
admitted and ended up staying for about a week.
Not certain, but we think it was Lyme disease. My
foot swelled to the point that the skin split…gross.
Being an Officer I got my own private room!
I was off work for a couple of weeks, and during
my “recovery” took up a hobby that had been
dormant since I was in school….painting.
So began what has become my hobby, now in its
22 nd . year.
