situated 12 nautical miles north/
northeast, is owned and operated by the
City of Rockwall. The airport is served
by Runway 17-35, providing an asphalt
landing area of 3,373 feet long by 45
feet wide. The airport has 86 based
aircraft, including six multi-engine
aircraft. The airport has an estimated
38,000 operations annually. Four onairport
businesses provide aviation
services, including flight training,
100LL Avgas fuel sales, aircraft
maintenance, aircraft rental,
sightseeing, and airport terminal
building spaces for pilot/passenger
accommodation. The airport has three
published instrument approach
procedures.
Rives Air Park Airport, is located 13
nautical miles east/northeast of
Mesquite Metro Airport in Royse City.
The airport is served by asphalt
Runway 4-22, which is 2,800 feet long
by 40 feet wide. The airport has three
based single-engine aircraft and an
estimated 300 annual operations. No
aviation services are currently provided
at the airport.
Terrell Municipal Airport is located
13.5 nautical miles east of Mesquite
Metro Airport. The airport is owned by
the City of Terrell and is served by two
asphalt runways. Crosswind Runway
14-32 extends 3,014 feet long by 75 feet
wide, while primary Runway 17-35 is
5,000 feet long by 75 feet wide. There
are 85 based aircraft, including ten
multi-engine aircraft, and an estimated

Aviation, the airport’s only FBO,
provides a full range of services
including fuel sales, flight school/flight
training, minor aircraft maintenance
and repair, aircraft rental, courtesy
transportation, and a public telephone.

approach, NDB or GPS, to Runway 17.
Lancaster Airport is located 14
nautical miles to the southwest and is
owned and operated by the City of
Lancaster. This airport is served by
asphalt Runway 13-31, which extends
5,000 feet long by 100 feet wide.
Lancaster Airport has an estimated
40,500 annual operations and bases 195
aircraft, including 25 multi-engine and
30 turbine powered aircraft. The
airport is served by two FBOs which
provide an array of aviation services,
including fueling, aircraft rental, flight
instruction, and aircraft maintenance.
There are two instrument approaches to
the Runway 31 end.
Dallas Love Field, located 17 nautical
miles west/northwest of Mesquite Metro
Airport, is a medium hub commercial
service airport which had approximately
2.8 million enplane-ments in
2003. Love Field serves as the primary
hub and corporate headquarters for
Southwest Airlines. Owned and
operated by the City of Dallas, the
airport is served by three runways, with
Runway 13R-31L the longest at 8,800
feet. Although it primarily serves as a
commercial service airport, Love Field
is also home to 595 aircraft, including
522 jets. Tower counts reflect
approximately 251,000 annual
operations. There are nine instrument
approaches.
