TAX INFORMATION Texas is one of only four states that does not have a corporate income tax, and one of only seven states that does not have an individual income tax. A 6.25 percent state sales tax, a 1.5 percent city sales tax, and a 0.5 percent tax to the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation (used for transportation, public safety, and parks and recreation improvements) comprise Mesquite’s 8.25 percent sales tax rate. SUMMARY The information discussed in this chapter provides a foundation upon which the remaining elements of the planning process will be constructed. Information on current airport facilities and utilization will serve as a basis, with additional analysis and data collection, for the development of forecasts of aviation activity and facility requirement determinations. The inventory of existing conditions is the first step in the complex process for determining those factors which will meet projected aviation demand in the community and region. DOCUMENT SOURCES A variety of different sources were utilized in the inventory process. The following listing reflects a partial compilation of these sources. This does not include data provided by airport management as part of their records, nor does it include airport drawings and 1-27 photographs which were referenced for information. On-site inventory and interviews with staff and tenants contributed to the inventory effort.
