Automotive Technology<br />

The Automotive program at TSTC features approximately $3 million<br />

worth of the latest equipment <strong>and</strong> laboratories. The program<br />

is accredited by ASE Program Accreditation, <strong>and</strong> instructors are<br />

certified by Automotive Service Excellence <strong>and</strong> bring years of<br />

industry experience to the classroom. <strong>Student</strong>s receive intensive,<br />

h<strong>and</strong>s-on training, spending more than 60 percent of their time in<br />

labs, learning by doing, <strong>and</strong> the curriculum is guided by an advisory<br />

board of industry leaders, helping to ensure that the training<br />

students receive is right on target with what the industry needs.<br />

Automotive Technology offers specializations in Master Automotive<br />

Service Technology, Maintenance <strong>and</strong> Light Repair, Toyota T-TEN, <strong>and</strong><br />

MOPAR CAP specialty programs. For quicker entry into the industry,<br />

certificates are available.<br />

Automotive Technology is available at the Harlingen, Sweetwater<br />

<strong>and</strong> Waco campuses.<br />

First-Year Seminar Requirement<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s are required to enroll in the First-Year Seminar course,<br />

TSTC 1102, in their first semester attending TSTC unless they<br />

have completed more than 24 credit hours. Please see detailed<br />

information regarding the course <strong>and</strong> exemptions in the Advising<br />

section under First-Year Seminar course.<br />
