the nursing process to the care of the adult patient experiencing<br />
medical-surgical conditions along the health-illness continuum in a<br />
variety of health care settings.<br />
VNSG 1331 Pharmacology (3-0-3) Fundamentals of medications <strong>and</strong><br />
their diagnostic, therapeutic, <strong>and</strong> curative effects. Includes nursing<br />
interventions utilizing the nursing process.<br />
VNSG 1334 Pediatrics (3-0-3) Study of the care of the pediatric<br />
patient <strong>and</strong> family during health <strong>and</strong> disease. Emphasis on growth<br />
<strong>and</strong> developmental needs utilizing the nursing process.<br />

VNSG 1462 Clinical - Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training<br />
(0-0-4) A health-related work-based learning experience that<br />
enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory,<br />

professional.<br />
VNSG 2413 Applied Nursing Skills II (3-4-4) Application of nursing<br />
skills to meet complex patient needs utilizing the nursing process<br />

Equipment (2-2-3) Identification <strong>and</strong> analysis of the components<br />

WIND 2455 Wind Turbine Troubleshooting <strong>and</strong> Repair (2-4-4)<br />
Operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, <strong>and</strong> repair of wind turbine<br />
electro-mechanical systems. Prerequisite CETT 1305, INMT 1317<br />
WIND 2459 Wind Power Delivery System (3-2-4) Components,<br />
equipment, <strong>and</strong> infrastructure used in the production <strong>and</strong><br />
transmission of electricity as related to wind turbine power.<br />

WLDG 1313 Introduction to Blueprint Reading for Welders (3-0-3)<br />
A study of industrial blueprints. Emphasis placed on terminology,<br />
symbols, graphic description, <strong>and</strong> welding processes. Includes<br />
systems of measurement <strong>and</strong> industry st<strong>and</strong>ards. Also includes<br />
interpretation of plans <strong>and</strong> drawings used by industry to facilitate<br />
field application <strong>and</strong> production.<br />
WLDG 1327 Welding Codes <strong>and</strong> St<strong>and</strong>ards (2-4-3) An in-depth<br />
study of welding codes <strong>and</strong> their development in accordance<br />
with structural st<strong>and</strong>ards, welding processes, destructive <strong>and</strong><br />
nondestructive test methods. Prerequisite WLDG 2413<br />
WLDG 1337 Introduction to Welding Metallurgy (2-4-3) A study<br />
of ferrous <strong>and</strong> nonferrous metals from the ore to the finished<br />
product. Emphasis on metal alloys, heat treating, hard surfacing,<br />
welding techniques, forging, foundry processes, <strong>and</strong> mechanical<br />
properties of metal including hardness, machinability, <strong>and</strong> ductility.<br />

WLDG 1391 Special Topics in Welder/Welding Technologist (2-4-3)<br />
Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge,<br />
<strong>and</strong>/or attitudes <strong>and</strong> behaviors pertinent to the technology or<br />
occupation <strong>and</strong> relevant to the professional development of the<br />
student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to<br />
improve student proficiency.<br />
WLDG 1407 Introduction to Welding Using Multiple Processes<br />
(2-6-4) Basic welding techniques using some of the following<br />
processes: Oxy-fuel welding (OFW) <strong>and</strong> cutting, shielded metal arc<br />
welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), <strong>and</strong> gas tungsten<br />
arc welding (GTAW).<br />
WLDG 1417 Introduction to Layout <strong>and</strong> Fabrication (2-6-4) A<br />
fundamental course in layout <strong>and</strong> fabrication related to the<br />
welding industry. Major emphasis on structural shapes <strong>and</strong> use in<br />
construction. Prerequisite WLDG 1313 (Prerequisite or Corequisite)<br />
WLDG 1428 Introduction to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)<br />
(2-6-4) An introduction to the shielded metal arc welding process.<br />
Emphasis placed on power sources, electrode selection, oxy-fuel<br />
cutting, <strong>and</strong> various joint designs. Instruction provided in SMAW<br />
fillet welds in various positions.<br />
WLDG 1434 Introduction to Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW) Welding (2-<br />
6-4) Principles of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), including setup,<br />
GTAW equipment. Instruction in various positions <strong>and</strong> joint designs.<br />
Prerequisite WLDG 1407<br />
WLDG 1435 Introduction to Pipe Welding (2-6-4) An introduction<br />
to welding of pipe using the shielded metal arc welding process<br />
(SMAW), including electrode selection, equipment setup, <strong>and</strong> safe<br />
shop practices. Emphasis on weld positions 1G <strong>and</strong> 2G using various<br />
electrodes. Prerequisite WLDG 2435<br />
WLDG 1457 Intermediate Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)<br />
(2-6-4) A study of the production of various fillets <strong>and</strong> groove<br />
welds. Preparation of specimens for testing in various positions.<br />
