(1-2-2) Review of concepts required for licensure examination <strong>and</strong><br />

entry into the practice of professional nursing. Includes review of<br />

application process of National Council Licensure Examination for<br />

Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) test plan, assessment of knowledge<br />

deficits, <strong>and</strong> remediation. This course lends itself to either a blocked<br />

or integrated approach.<br />

RNSG 2432 Enhanced Concepts of Adult Health (3-2-4) Enhanced<br />

concepts <strong>and</strong> skills for developing professional competencies<br />

in complicated nursing care situations involving adult patients/<br />

families with multiple body system problems. Emphasizes critical<br />

thinking, clinical reasoning, <strong>and</strong> determining legal/ethical values for<br />

optimization of patient care in intermediate <strong>and</strong> acute care settings.<br />

RSTO 1313 Hospitality Supervision (2-2-3) Fundamentals of<br />

recruiting, selection, <strong>and</strong> training of food service <strong>and</strong> hospitality<br />

personnel. Topics include job descriptions, schedules, work<br />

improvement, motivation, applicable personnel laws <strong>and</strong><br />

regulations. Emphasis on leadership development.<br />

RSTO 1380 Cooperative Education - Restaurant, Culinary, <strong>and</strong><br />

Catering Management/Manager (1-0-3) Career-related activities<br />

encountered in the student's area of specialization offered through<br />

an individualized agreement among the college, employer, <strong>and</strong><br />

student. Under the supervision of the college <strong>and</strong> the employer,<br />

the student combines classroom learning with work experience.<br />

Includes a lecture component.<br />

applied systematic study of the structure <strong>and</strong> function of the human<br />

body. Includes anatomical terminology, cells, tissues, <strong>and</strong> the<br />

following systems: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, <strong>and</strong><br />

endocrine. Emphasis on homeostasis.<br />

SCIT 1414 Applied General Chemistry I (3-3-4) Applications of<br />

general chemistry emphasizing industry-related laboratory skills<br />

<strong>and</strong> competencies including laboratory safety <strong>and</strong> report writing.<br />

Addresses supporting chemical theories including atomic <strong>and</strong><br />

molecular structure, nomenclature, chemical reactivity, gas laws,<br />

acids <strong>and</strong> bases, solutions, <strong>and</strong> an overview of organic chemistry.<br />

SOLR 1371 Introduction to Solar <strong>and</strong> Alternative Energy<br />

Technologies (2-4-3) Introduction to Renewable Energy is an<br />

overview to the most common types of renewable energy with<br />

an emphasis on solar system types <strong>and</strong> applications. This course<br />

introduces solar system types, components, safety issues, <strong>and</strong><br />

history.<br />

SOLR 1372 Foundations of Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation<br />

(2-4-3) Solar electrical power generation using photovoltaic (PV)<br />

equipment. Includes calculation of power generation <strong>and</strong> dem<strong>and</strong><br />

requirements, installation process for solar system components, <strong>and</strong><br />

strategies for optimizing system performance <strong>and</strong> reliability.<br />

SOLR 2375 Solar System Design, Installation, Troubleshooting &<br />

Repair (2-4-3) Design considerations including site assessment <strong>and</strong><br />

desired system operation, installation, commissioning, maintenance,<br />

operation, troubleshooting <strong>and</strong> repair, <strong>and</strong> decommissioning. Review<br />

of safety issues, personal protection equipment, <strong>and</strong> tools of the<br />

trade associated with installation, operation, maintenance, <strong>and</strong><br />

troubleshooting <strong>and</strong> repair of solar systems.<br />
