student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly<br />

related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide<br />

ITSY 2330 Intrusion Detection (2-4-3) Identify elements of firewall<br />

design, types of security threats <strong>and</strong> responses to security attacks.<br />

ongoing network security activities. Prerequisite ITNW 2321<br />

ITSY 2343 Computer System Forensics (2-4-3) In-depth study<br />

of system forensics including methodologies used for analysis<br />

of computer security breaches. Gather <strong>and</strong> evaluate evidence to<br />

perform postmortem analysis of a security breach. Prerequisite ITDF<br />

ITSY 2359 Security Assessment <strong>and</strong> Auditing (2-4-3) Capstone<br />

experience for the security curriculum. Synthesizes technical<br />

material covered in prior courses to monitor, audit, analyze, <strong>and</strong><br />

revise computer <strong>and</strong> network security systems to ensure appropriate<br />

levels of protection are in place to assure regulatory compliance.<br />

LNWK 1301 Orientation <strong>and</strong> Line Skill Fundamentals (2-4-3)<br />

Examination of utility company operations. Topics include company<br />

structure, safety <strong>and</strong> distribution st<strong>and</strong>ards h<strong>and</strong>book, lineman's<br />

tools, vocabulary, <strong>and</strong> work procedures. Discussion of basic<br />

electrical systems including the history of power generation <strong>and</strong><br />

distribution with emphasis on generating plants <strong>and</strong> substations.<br />

LNWK 1311 Climbing Skills (2-4-3) Theory <strong>and</strong> application of pole<br />

climbing. Includes safety, climbing techniques, tool inspection, poles<br />

inspection, personal protective equipment, <strong>and</strong> fall protection.<br />

LNWK 1331 Transformer Connections (2-4-3) An introduction<br />

to basic transformer connections <strong>and</strong> theory (including basic<br />

alternating current (AC) theory) <strong>and</strong> their direct application to<br />

single phase <strong>and</strong> three phase transformers. <strong>Student</strong>s will study<br />

<strong>and</strong> practice basic transformer connections <strong>and</strong> fundamentals.<br />
