Computer Networking &<br />

Systems Administration<br />

The Computer Networking & Systems Administration program<br />

produces dynamic, highly skilled IT professionals that today’s<br />

industry dem<strong>and</strong>s. They have the expertise to build, secure <strong>and</strong><br />

manage IT systems in the cloud <strong>and</strong> on-premise. They are in charge<br />

of keeping the infrastructure <strong>and</strong> services operational to ensure that<br />

everyone <strong>and</strong> everything stays connected.<br />

In this program, you will engage with real equipment through<br />

h<strong>and</strong>s-on labs <strong>and</strong> other interactive assessments designed to build<br />

knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills that are critical for success in high-dem<strong>and</strong><br />

fields. You will have the opportunity to learn how to configure <strong>and</strong><br />

troubleshoot technology that is essential to any business, such as<br />

computers, switches, routers, servers <strong>and</strong> firewalls. All this will be<br />

through multiple pathway options <strong>and</strong> with many courses focused<br />

on industry certifications from Cisco, Amazon <strong>and</strong> CompTIA. The<br />

program is an official Cisco Network Academy <strong>and</strong> Amazon Web<br />

Services (AWS) Academy.<br />

The Advanced Technical Certificate is focused on cloud computing<br />

<strong>and</strong> offers specialized training in topics such as DevOps,<br />

infrastructure development/automation, programming, database<br />

management, security, configuration management, <strong>and</strong> more.<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s will leave with extensive knowledge of cloud computing.<br />

Computer Networking & Systems Administration is a Performance-<br />

Based Education (PBE) program.<br />

Computer Networking & Systems Administration is 100% online.<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s will be required to take the <strong>Student</strong> Online Learning<br />

Orientation course (SOLO 100).<br />

First-Year Seminar Requirement<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s are required to enroll in the First Year Seminar course,<br />

TSTC 1102, in their first semester attending TSTC unless they<br />

have completed more than 24 credit hours. Please see detailed<br />
