Heating, Ventilation &<br />
Air Conditioning Technology<br />
TSTC offers h<strong>and</strong>s-on training to teach students of Heating,<br />
Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology the skills needed to<br />
enter the industry. The program is backed by experienced faculty,<br />
many of whom are active members of professional organizations<br />
such as North American Technician Excellence <strong>and</strong> Air Conditioning<br />
Contractors of America, <strong>and</strong> is guided by an advisory board of<br />
current industry members, ensuring that students get the latest<br />
training available. The laboratory facilities at TSTC include high<br />
efficiency commercial <strong>and</strong> residential heating <strong>and</strong> air conditioning<br />
equipment, energy efficient heat pumps, commercial refrigeration<br />
equipment, direct digital <strong>and</strong> pneumatic controls, <strong>and</strong> a 200-ton<br />
chilled water system.<br />
Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology is a Performance-<br />
Based Education (PBE) program.<br />
Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology is available at<br />
East Williamson County, Fort Bend County, Harlingen, North Texas<br />
<strong>and</strong> Waco campuses.<br />
First-Year Seminar Requirement<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s are required to enroll in the First-Year Seminar course,<br />
TSTC 1102, in their first semester attending TSTC unless they<br />
have completed more than 24 credit hours. Please see detailed<br />
information regarding the course <strong>and</strong> exemptions in the Advising<br />
section under First-Year Seminar course.<br />
TSTC 1102 will be required for the students on the Harlingen<br />
campus, but is available statewide. See your program advisor for<br />
