Engineering<br />

The Engineering program supports <strong>and</strong> enhances the College's<br />

technical education mission by providing Texas industry with<br />

employees who perform well at the entry level by virtue of their<br />

competence in math <strong>and</strong> problem-solving techniques using<br />

engineering principles. The Engineering program prepares graduates<br />

for advancement in the workplace through superior science <strong>and</strong><br />

mathematics-based problem-solving skills, <strong>and</strong> facilitates progress<br />

toward successful completion of further educational goals <strong>and</strong>/or<br />

lifelong learning experiences.<br />

Engineering is 100% online. <strong>Student</strong>s will be required to take the<br />

<strong>Student</strong> Online Learning Orientation course (SOLO 100).<br />

First-Year Seminar Requirement<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s are required to enroll in the First-Year Seminar course,<br />

TSTC 1101, in their first semester attending TSTC unless they<br />

have completed more than 24 credit hours. Please see detailed<br />

information regarding the course <strong>and</strong> exemptions in the Advising<br />

section under First-Year Seminar course.<br />
