A work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply<br />

specialized occupational theory, skills <strong>and</strong> concepts. A learning plan<br />

is developed by the college <strong>and</strong> the employer.<br />

BMGT 1309 Information <strong>and</strong> Project Management (2-4-3) Critical<br />

path methods for planning <strong>and</strong> controlling projects. Includes time/<br />

cost tradeoffs, resource utilization, stochastic considerations,<br />

task determination, time management, scheduling management,<br />

status reports, budget management, customer service, professional<br />

attitude, <strong>and</strong> project supervision.<br />

BMGT 1327 Principles of Management (2-2-3) Concepts,<br />

terminology, principles, theories, <strong>and</strong> issues in the field of<br />

management.<br />

BMGT 2347 Critical Thinking <strong>and</strong> Problem Solving (2-2-3)<br />

Interpreting data for problem solving <strong>and</strong> recommending corrective<br />

action. Emphasis on a structured approach to critical thinking <strong>and</strong><br />

problem solving in a team environment.<br />

BUSG 1302 E-Business Management (2-4-3) Introduction to<br />

business. Includes the internet, infrastructure for electronic<br />

commerce, markup languages, web-based tools <strong>and</strong> software,<br />

security issues, <strong>and</strong> electronic payment systems. Also covers<br />

strategies for marketing, sales, <strong>and</strong> purchasing; legal, ethical, <strong>and</strong> tax<br />

issues; <strong>and</strong> management functions.<br />

BUSG 1304 Intro to Financial Adv (2-2-3) A study of the financial<br />

principles when managing financial affairs. Includes topics such as<br />

budgeting, retirement, property ownership, savings, <strong>and</strong> investment<br />

planning.<br />

BUSG 1315 Small Business Operations (2-2-3) Operating a small<br />

business. Emphasizes management functions including planning,<br />

leading, organizing, staffing, <strong>and</strong> controlling operations.<br />

CBFM<br />

CBFM 1303 Boiler Maintenance (2-2-3) Boiler maintenance<br />

procedures with emphasis on the various components associated<br />

with boilers.<br />

CDEC<br />

CDEC 1318 Wellness of the Young Child (2-3-3) Factors impacting<br />

the well-being of young children. Includes healthy behavior, food,<br />

nutrition, fitness, <strong>and</strong> safety practices. Focuses on local <strong>and</strong> national<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> legal implications of relevant policies <strong>and</strong> regulations.<br />

Course content is aligned with State Board of Educator Certification<br />

Pedagogy <strong>and</strong> Professional Responsibilities st<strong>and</strong>ards. Requires<br />

students to participate in a minimum of 16 hours field experience<br />

with children from infancy through age 12 in a variety of settings<br />

with varied <strong>and</strong> diverse populations.<br />

CDEC 1321 The Infant <strong>and</strong> Toddler (3-0-3) A study of appropriate<br />

infant <strong>and</strong> toddler programs (birth to age 3), including an overview<br />

of development, quality routines, learning environments, materials<br />

<strong>and</strong> activities, <strong>and</strong> teaching/guidance techniques.<br />

CDEC 1356 Emergent Literacy for Early Childhood (2-4-3) An<br />

exploration of principles, methods, <strong>and</strong> materials for teaching<br />

language <strong>and</strong> literacy through a play-based integrated curriculum to<br />

children from birth through age eight.<br />

CDEC 1359 Children with Special Needs (2-4-3) A survey of<br />

information regarding children with special needs including<br />

possible causes <strong>and</strong> characteristics of exceptionalities, intervention<br />

strategies, available resources, referral processes, the advocacy role,<br />

<strong>and</strong> legislative issues.<br />

CDEC 2340 Instructional Techniques for Children with Special<br />

Needs (2-4-3) Exploration of development <strong>and</strong> implementation of<br />

curriculum for children with special needs.<br />

CETT 1302 Electricity Principles (2-4-3) Principles of electricity<br />

including proper use of test equipment, A/C <strong>and</strong> D/C circuits, <strong>and</strong><br />

component theory <strong>and</strong> operations.<br />

CETT 1303 DC Circuits (2-4-3) A study of the fundamentals of direct<br />

current including Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws <strong>and</strong> circuit analysis<br />

techniques.<br />

CETT 1305 AC Circuits (2-4-3) A study of the fundamentals of<br />

alternating current including series <strong>and</strong> parallel AC circuits, phasors,<br />

capacitive <strong>and</strong> inductive networks, transformers, <strong>and</strong> resonance.<br />

Prerequisite CETT 1303 or IEIR 1302 (Prerequisite or Corequisite)<br />
