IMED 2388 Internship - Digital Communication <strong>and</strong> Media/<br />

Multimedia (0-0-3) A work-based learning experience that enables<br />

the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills <strong>and</strong><br />

concepts. A learning plan is developed by the college <strong>and</strong> the<br />

employer. Prerequisite ITSE 2313, IMED 2309, IMED 2315<br />

INEW 2332 Comprehensive Software Project: Coding, Testing,<br />

<strong>and</strong> Implementation (2-2-3) A comprehensive application of skills<br />

learned in previous semesters in a simulated workplace. Includes<br />

coding, testing, maintenance, <strong>and</strong> documentation of a complete<br />

software <strong>and</strong>/or hardware solution. This course may be used as a<br />

capstone course for a certificate or degree.<br />

INMT 1305 Introduction to Industrial Maintenance (2-4-3) Basic<br />

mechanical skills <strong>and</strong> repair techniques common to most fields<br />

of industrial maintenance. Topics include precision measuring<br />

instruments <strong>and</strong> general safety rules common in industry, including<br />

lock-out/tag-out.<br />

INMT 1317 Industrial Automation (2-4-3) Applications of industrial<br />

automation systems including identification of system requirements,<br />

equipment integration, motors, controllers, <strong>and</strong> sensors. Coverage<br />

of set-up, maintenance, <strong>and</strong> testing of the automated system.<br />

Prerequisite CETT 1303, CETT 1305<br />

INMT 1355 Industrial Power Plant Systems (2-4-3) Study the<br />

principles of operation <strong>and</strong> maintenance of industrial power plants.<br />

Emphasis placed on component replacement, tune-up, <strong>and</strong> field<br />

adjustments of engine systems. Prerequisite INMT 1305<br />

INMT 2301 Machinery Installation (2-4-3) <strong>Student</strong>s utilize skills<br />

acquired in previous studies. Machinery foundation, locations,<br />

installation, <strong>and</strong> alignment activities are practiced <strong>and</strong> tested.<br />

Emphasis is on the various methods of shaft alignment including<br />

laser shaft alignment. Prerequisite INMT 1305<br />

INMT 2303 Pumps, Compressors & Mechanical Drives (2-4-3) A<br />

study of the theory <strong>and</strong> operations of various types of pumps <strong>and</strong><br />

compressors. Topics include mechanical power transmission systems<br />

including gears, v-belts, <strong>and</strong> chain drives. Prerequisite INMT 1305<br />

INMT 2345 Industrial Troubleshooting (2-4-3) An advanced<br />

study of the techniques used in troubleshooting various types of<br />

industrial equipment to include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic,<br />

<strong>and</strong> pneumatic systems <strong>and</strong> their control devices. Emphasis will be<br />

placed on the use of schematics <strong>and</strong> diagrams in conjunction with<br />

proper troubleshooting procedures. Prerequisite ELPT 1341<br />

INTC 1305 Introduction to Instrumentation (2-4-3) A survey of the<br />

instrumentation field <strong>and</strong> the professional requirements of the<br />

instrumentation technician. Prerequisite CETT 1303 (Prerequisite or<br />

INTC 1341 Principles of Automatic Control (2-4-3) Basic<br />

measurements, automatic control systems <strong>and</strong> design, closed<br />

loop systems, controllers, feedback, control modes, <strong>and</strong> control<br />

configurations.<br />

INTC 1343 Application of Industrial Automatic Controls (2-4-3)<br />

Automatic process control including measuring devices, analog<br />

<strong>and</strong> digital instrumentation, signal transmitters, recorders, alarms,<br />

controllers, control valves, <strong>and</strong> process <strong>and</strong> instrument diagrams.<br />

Includes connection <strong>and</strong> troubleshooting of loops.<br />

INTC 1348 Analytical Instrumentation (1-5-3) Analytical<br />

instruments emphasizing utilization in process applications.<br />

Includes, but not limited to, chromatography, pH, conductivity, <strong>and</strong><br />

spectrophotometric instruments. Prerequisite INTC 1341<br />

INTC 1350 Digital Measurement <strong>and</strong> Controls (1-5-3) Basic<br />

measurement control instrumentation. Includes movement of<br />

digital data through common systems employing parallel <strong>and</strong> serial<br />

transfers. Prerequisite RBTC 1301<br />

INTC 1355 Unit Operations (2-4-3) Automatic control requirements<br />

of industrial processes. Includes control systems, control loop<br />

tuning, <strong>and</strong> analysis. Prerequisite INTC 1341<br />

INTC 1356 Instrumentation Calibration (2-4-3) Techniques for<br />

configuring <strong>and</strong> calibrating transmitters, controllers, recorders,<br />

valves, <strong>and</strong> valve positioners. Prerequisite INTC 1355<br />

INTC 2310 Principles of Industrial Measurements II (1-5-3)<br />

Additional principles of measurement. Includes devices used to<br />

measure process variables <strong>and</strong> basic control functions. Prerequisite<br />

INTC 2330 Instrumentation Systems Troubleshooting (2-4-3)<br />

Techniques for troubleshooting instrumentation systems in a<br />

process environment. Includes troubleshooting upsets in processes.<br />

INTC 2333 Instrumentation Systems Installation (1-5-3) Synthesis,<br />

application, <strong>and</strong> integration of instrument installation components.<br />

Includes a comprehensive final project. Prerequisite INTC 1355<br />

INTC 2336 Distributed Control <strong>and</strong> Programmable Logic (1-5-3)<br />

An overview of distributed control systems including configuration<br />

of programmable logic controllers, smart transmitters, <strong>and</strong> field<br />

communicators. Functions of digital systems in a process control<br />

INTC 2339 Instrument <strong>and</strong> Control Review (2-4-3) An overview<br />

of instrument <strong>and</strong> control technology in preparation for industry<br />

INTC 2350 Fieldbus Process Control Systems (1-5-3) A<br />

comprehensive view of fieldbus systems using theory, applications,<br />
