ABDR <strong>22</strong>70 Advanced Application Processes of Refinishing (0-<br />

8-2) An advanced course in the practical application of acquired<br />

refinishing skills. Use industry relevant estimating programs <strong>and</strong><br />

interpret work orders to create <strong>and</strong> implement a repair plan on<br />

live projects. Repairs will be completed by application of theory,<br />

concepts <strong>and</strong> skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment,<br />

procedures, regulations, laws <strong>and</strong> interactions with the instructor/<br />

customer; <strong>and</strong> will demonstrate ethical behavior, safety practices,<br />

interpersonal <strong>and</strong> teamwork skills <strong>and</strong> appropriate written <strong>and</strong><br />

verbal communication skills using the terminology of collision repair<br />

industry <strong>and</strong> the instructor/customer. Prerequisite ABDR 2449, ABDR<br />

ABDR <strong>22</strong>81 Cooperative Education - Autobody/Collision <strong>and</strong><br />

Repair Technology/Technician (1-0-2) Career-related activities<br />

encountered in the student's area of specialization offered through<br />

an individualized agreement among the college, employer, <strong>and</strong><br />

student. Under the supervision of the college <strong>and</strong> the employer,<br />

the student combines classroom learning with work experience.<br />

Includes a lecture component. Prerequisite ABDR 2449, ABDR 2551<br />

ABDR 2357 Collision Repair Shop Management (2-3-3) Examination<br />

of shop management functions <strong>and</strong> decision-making processes<br />

including planning, organizing, leading <strong>and</strong> staffing used in collision<br />

repair shops to ensure operational profitability. Prerequisite ABDR<br />

<strong>22</strong>55<br />

ABDR 2359 Structural Sectioning (2-4-3) Skill development in the<br />

practical application of welded panel replacement <strong>and</strong> structural<br />

sectioning procedures as well as practical equipment applications<br />

in structural vehicle straightening, alignment, welding, <strong>and</strong> corrosion<br />

protection. Prerequisite ABDR 1307, ABDR 1419, ABDR 2435<br />

ABDR 2371 Refinishing Process I (2-4-3) The theory <strong>and</strong> practical<br />

application of spray booth <strong>and</strong> vehicle pre-spray preparation.<br />

Remove <strong>and</strong> perform final finishing. Apply decals <strong>and</strong> stripes with<br />

emphasis on paint problems <strong>and</strong> remedies. Prerequisite ABDR 1458,<br />

ABDR 1431<br />

ABDR 2380 Cooperative Education - Autobody/Collision <strong>and</strong><br />

Repair Technology/Technician (1-0-3) Career-related activities<br />

encountered in the student's area of specialization offered through<br />

in the student's area of specialization are offered through a<br />

cooperative agreement between the college, employer, <strong>and</strong> student.<br />

Under supervision of the college <strong>and</strong> the employer, the student<br />

combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related<br />

to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the<br />

student through the paid work experience.<br />

ABDR 2435 Structural Analysis <strong>and</strong> Damage Repair IV (2-6-4)<br />

Continuation of skills development in the repair <strong>and</strong> replacement of<br />

major body units. Prerequisite ABDR 1215<br />

ABDR 2447 Advanced Collision Repair Welding (2-4-4) Skill<br />

development in the use of advanced welding <strong>and</strong> cutting processes.<br />

Emphasizes current welding procedures <strong>and</strong> specific repair<br />

requirements for specialized metals. Prerequisite ABDR 1307<br />

ABDR 2449 Advanced Refinishing (2-6-4) Application of multistage<br />

refinishing techniques. Advanced skill development solving<br />

refinishing problems. Application of multi-stage refinishing<br />

techniques with emphasis on formula mixing <strong>and</strong> special spraying<br />

techniques. Prerequisite ABDR 1458, ABDR 1431<br />

ABDR 2453 Color Analysis <strong>and</strong> Paint Matching (2-6-4) Advanced<br />

course in color theory, analysis, tinting, <strong>and</strong> blending techniques for<br />

acceptable paint matching. Prerequisite ABDR 2449, ABDR 2551<br />

ABDR 2502 Auto Body Mechanical <strong>and</strong> Electrical Service (3-6-5)<br />

A course in the repair, replacement, <strong>and</strong>/or service of collision<br />

damaged mechanical or electrical systems. Topics include drive<br />

train removal, reinstallation <strong>and</strong> service; cooling system service<br />

<strong>and</strong> repair; exhaust system service; <strong>and</strong> emission control systems.<br />

Additional topics include wire <strong>and</strong> connector repair, reading wiring<br />

diagrams, <strong>and</strong> troubleshooting. Prerequisite ABDR 1307, ABDR 1419,<br />

ABDR 2435<br />

ABDR 2551 Specialized Refinishing Techniques (3-6-5) Advanced<br />

topics in specialty automotive refinishing. Emphasis on refinishing<br />

plastics, fiberglass, aluminum, <strong>and</strong> galvanized panels as well as<br />

custom graphics <strong>and</strong> current industry innovations. Prerequisite<br />

ABDR 1458, ABDR 1431<br />

ACNT 1311 Introduction to Computerized Accounting (2-4-3)<br />

Introduction to utilizing the computer in maintaining accounting<br />

records with primary emphasis on a general ledger package.<br />

ACNT 1325 Principles of Accounting I (2-4-3) A study of accounting<br />

concepts <strong>and</strong> their application in transaction analysis <strong>and</strong> financial<br />

statement preparation. Emphasis on the accounting cycle for service<br />

<strong>and</strong> merch<strong>and</strong>ising enterprises.<br />

ACNT 1329 Payroll & Business Tax Accounting (2-2-3) A study of<br />

payroll procedures, taxing entities, <strong>and</strong> reporting requirements<br />

of local, state, <strong>and</strong> federal taxing authorities in a manual <strong>and</strong><br />

computerized environment.<br />

AERM 1107 Aviation Mathematics (0-3-1) Fundamentals of<br />

mathematics applied to aircraft principles <strong>and</strong> operations as<br />

required by the Federal Aviation Administration for airframe <strong>and</strong><br />
