Electrical Lineworker Technology*<br />
Lineworker occupations are among the most physically dem<strong>and</strong>ing<br />
but highest-paying careers in the nation, <strong>and</strong> Texas employs more<br />
than any other state. In TSTC's Electrical Lineworker program,<br />
you'll perform practical exercises on the safe use <strong>and</strong> operation of<br />
lineworker climbing gear, equipment <strong>and</strong> tools in an authentic utility<br />
training environment. To earn high wages in this exciting career,<br />
you must be able to work at elevated heights for long hours in all<br />
weather conditions. This industry is for those who want to reap the<br />
rewarding benefits of a high-dem<strong>and</strong> career.<br />
Please note: C<strong>and</strong>idates for this program will be required upon entry<br />
to provide a Valid Class C Driver's License, a valid Social Security<br />
Card (Authorized to work in the US), 18 years of age, DOT Physical<br />
Medical Examination Report <strong>and</strong> Certificate, <strong>and</strong> provide a copy<br />
of a Non-Certified Driving Record from the Department of Motor<br />
Vehicles for each state they have resided during the last 7 years<br />
without warrants or pending criminal charges.<br />
Out-of-State students will be required to enter the program with<br />
a Class A Commercial Driver's License from their state of origin,<br />
or must stay in local housing or dorms to be eligible to change<br />
residency to the State of Texas while enrolled in classes.<br />

Electrical Lineworker Technology is available at the Fort Bend<br />
County, Harlingen, Marshall <strong>and</strong> Waco campuses.<br />
First-Year Seminar Requirement<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s are required to enroll in the First-Year Seminar course,<br />
TSTC 1101, in their first semester attending TSTC unless they<br />
have completed more than 24 credit hours. Please see detailed<br />
information regarding the course <strong>and</strong> exemptions in the Advising<br />
section under First-Year Seminar course.<br />
