ELPT 1681 Cooperative Education - Electrical <strong>and</strong> Power<br />
Transmission Installation/ Installer, General (1-0-6) Career-related<br />
activities encountered in the student's area of specialization offered<br />
through an individualized agreement among the college, employer,<br />
<strong>and</strong> student. Under the supervision of the college <strong>and</strong> the employer,<br />
the student combines classroom learning with work experience.<br />
Includes a lecture component.<br />
ELPT 2319 Programmable Logic Controllers I (2-4-3) Fundamental<br />
concepts of programmable logic controllers, principles of<br />
operation, <strong>and</strong> numbering systems as applied to electrical controls.<br />
Prerequisite ELPT 1341 (Prerequisite or Corequisite)<br />
ELPT 2323 Transformers (2-3-3) Transformer types, construction,<br />
connections, protection, grounding, <strong>and</strong> associated safety<br />
procedures. Prerequisite ELPT 2335<br />
ELPT 2331 AC/DC Drives (2-4-3) Installation <strong>and</strong> maintenance<br />
of alternating current (AC) <strong>and</strong> direct current (DC) variable speed<br />
drives with emphasis on application, operating characteristics, <strong>and</strong><br />
troubleshooting techniques.<br />
ELPT 2335 Electrical Theory <strong>and</strong> Devices (2-3-3) Electrical <strong>and</strong><br />
electronic measuring devices <strong>and</strong> their applications to the use of<br />
electrical power. Includes calculating <strong>and</strong> balancing single-phase<br />
<strong>and</strong> three-phase systems. Prerequisite CETT 1305 or MATH 1316<br />
ELPT 2339 Electrical Power Distribution (2-2-3) Design, operation,<br />
<strong>and</strong> technical details of modern power distribution systems<br />
including generating equipment, transmission lines, plant<br />
distribution, <strong>and</strong> protective devices. Includes calculations of fault<br />
current, system load analysis, rates, <strong>and</strong> power economics.<br />
ELPT 2343 Electrical Systems Design (2-3-3) Electrical design of<br />
commercial <strong>and</strong>/or industrial projects including building layout,<br />
types of equipment, placement, sizing of electrical equipment,<br />
<strong>and</strong> all electrical calculations according to the requirements of the<br />
National Electrical Code (NEC). Prerequisite DFTG 1313, EEIR 1309<br />
or ELPT 2339<br />
ELPT 2347 Electrical Testing <strong>and</strong> Maintenance (2-4-3) Proper<br />
<strong>and</strong> safe use of electrical power equipment test devices <strong>and</strong> the<br />
interpretation of test results. Includes protective relay testing <strong>and</strong><br />
calibration, direct current (DC) testing, insulation power factor<br />
testing, <strong>and</strong> medium voltage switchgear.<br />

EMSP 1355 Trauma Management (2-3-3) Knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills in<br />
the assessment <strong>and</strong> management of patients with traumatic injuries.<br />
EMSP 1356 Patient Assessment <strong>and</strong> Airway Management (2-4-<br />
