SOLO 100 <strong>Student</strong> Online Learning Orientation (0-0-0) The goal of<br />
the TSTC <strong>Student</strong> Online Learning Orientation is to increase your<br />
awareness, readiness <strong>and</strong> self-confidence in taking online learning<br />
courses.<br />

AACT<br />
AACT 1371 Electronics Fundamentals in Automation (2-4-3) An<br />
entry level course in electronics to include Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's<br />
laws, AC circuits, capacitance, inductance, <strong>and</strong> circuit analysis<br />
techniques.<br />
AACT 1372 Automation Safety <strong>and</strong> Compliance (2-4-3) Introduction<br />
to safety procedures <strong>and</strong> practices relating to Automation<br />
Applications. Includes Lock/Out tag out training, Arc flash training,<br />
working with fluids training, first aid training <strong>and</strong> CPR certifications.<br />
AACT 1373 Administrative Skills for Technicians (2-4-3) An<br />
introductory course to automation administration skills. The<br />
course covers general office administration programs, equipment<br />
interpretation data, design of technical documentation <strong>and</strong><br />
communication skills use in industry.<br />
AACT 2371 Automation Control Systems Interfacing I (2-4-3) An<br />
introductory course to automation wiring to address industrial<br />
needs for connecting devices as they apply to industry. Includes<br />
basic interfacing programming, wiring methods, color coding<br />
identification, communications wiring <strong>and</strong> the troubleshooting of<br />
wiring faults in Automation. Prerequisite ELPT 1341<br />
AACT 2372 Automation Control Systems Interfacing II (2-4-3)<br />
This course explores theoretical concepts of communications<br />
protocols programming. Emphasis in connecting devices as they<br />
apply to industry, <strong>and</strong> concepts of networking, data collection, <strong>and</strong><br />
troubleshooting of Industrial Networks. Prerequisite ELPT 2319<br />
AACT 2373 Factory I/O (2-4-3) A capstone course that provides<br />
students the opportunity to apply the knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills gained<br />
in the program. The course will be taken after completing specific<br />
specialized courses in the program to include programmable logic<br />
controller, Automation Control Systems Interfacing <strong>and</strong> Application<br />
of Industrial Automatic Controls. Prerequisite ELPT 2319<br />
ABDR<br />
ABDR 1203 Vehicle Design <strong>and</strong> Structural Analysis (1-2-2) An<br />
introduction to the collision repair industry with emphasis on safety,<br />
professionalism, <strong>and</strong> vehicle structural design.<br />
ABDR 1215 Vehicle Trim <strong>and</strong> Hardware (1-2-2) A study of vehicle<br />
trim <strong>and</strong> glass service.<br />
ABDR 1280 Cooperative Education - Autobody/Collision <strong>and</strong><br />
Repair Technology/Technician (1-0-2) Career-related activities<br />
encountered in the student's area of specialization offered through<br />
an individualized agreement among the college, employer, <strong>and</strong><br />
student. Under the supervision of the college <strong>and</strong> the employer,<br />
the student combines classroom learning with work experience.<br />
Includes a lecture component.<br />
ABDR 1307 Collision Repair Welding (2-4-3) A study of industry <strong>and</strong><br />
st<strong>and</strong>ard welding <strong>and</strong> cutting procedures. Prerequisite ABDR 1215<br />
ABDR 1323 Front <strong>and</strong> Rear Wheel Alignment (2-4-3) Study of<br />
vehicle steering components including alignment, tire rotation, <strong>and</strong><br />
balancing. Prerequisite ABDR 2435<br />
ABDR 1349 Automotive Plastic <strong>and</strong> Sheet Molded Compound<br />
Repair (2-3-3) A comprehensive course in repair of interior <strong>and</strong><br />
exterior plastics including the use of various types of adhesives.<br />
ABDR 1359 Sheet Metal Fabrication I (2-3-3) A study of the basic<br />
shaping techniques required for fabricating sheet metal parts <strong>and</strong><br />
pieces. Discussion will include custom cars <strong>and</strong> street rods.<br />
ABDR 1371 Basic Paint Techniques, Equipment & Environmental<br />
Practices (1-6-3) An introduction to current refinishing products,<br />
equipment <strong>and</strong> procedures used in the automotive refinishing<br />
industry on damaged panels. Emphasis on surface preparation,<br />
corrosion protection, masking techniques, masking techniques,<br />
block s<strong>and</strong>ing techniques, <strong>and</strong> refinishing repaired panels.<br />
ABDR 1419 Basic Metal Repair (2-6-4) Covers basic metal principles<br />
<strong>and</strong> working techniques including proper tool usage <strong>and</strong> product<br />
application.<br />
ABDR 1431 Basic Refinishing (2-6-4) An introduction to current<br />
refinishing products, shop safety, <strong>and</strong> equipment used in the<br />
automotive refinishing industry. Emphasis on surface preparation,<br />
masking techniques, <strong>and</strong> refinishing of trim <strong>and</strong> replacement parts.<br />

ABDR 1442 Structural Analysis <strong>and</strong> Damage Repair II (2-6-4)<br />
Continuation of general repair <strong>and</strong> replacement procedures for<br />
damaged structural parts <strong>and</strong> collision damage. Prerequisite ABDR<br />
1323, ABDR 1419, ABDR 2435<br />
ABDR 1458 Intermediate Refinishing (2-4-4) Training in mixing <strong>and</strong><br />
spraying of automotive topcoats. Emphasis on formula ingredient,<br />
reducing, thinning, <strong>and</strong> special spraying techniques. Introduction<br />
to partial panel refinishing techniques <strong>and</strong> current industry paint<br />
removal techniques. Prerequisite ABDR 1371<br />
ABDR 1481 Cooperative Education - Autobody/Collision <strong>and</strong><br />
