AVNC 1343 Aviation Electrical <strong>and</strong> Electronic Systems Installation<br />

(2-4-3) A comprehensive study of <strong>and</strong> practical experience in the<br />

installation of avionic systems in aircraft, mounting electronic<br />

equipment, construction <strong>and</strong> installation of electrical wiring <strong>and</strong><br />

cables, proper use of tools, selection of materials, <strong>and</strong> safety.<br />

AVNC 1353 Operational Testing of Aviation Electronic Systems<br />

(2-4-3) Operation of ramp test equipment in common usage to text<br />

avionic systems. Emphasis on performance of functional checks of<br />

aviation electronic systems <strong>and</strong> any safety concerns.<br />

AVNC 1391 Installation & Operational Testing of Avionics & Pitot-<br />

Static Systems (2-4-3) A practical experience in the planning <strong>and</strong><br />

execution, <strong>and</strong> testing of avionics <strong>and</strong> pitot-static installations.<br />

Advanced test equipment will be used where required.<br />

AVNC 2304 Foundations in Avionics Equipment Component Level<br />

Repairs (2-4-3) In-depth study of common circuit designs found in<br />

modern avionics equipment as well as a study of the electronics<br />

theory needed to troubleshoot these circuits.<br />

AVNC 2308 Aviation Electrical <strong>and</strong> Electronics Systems Installation<br />

II (2-4-3) A continuation of AVNC 1343. This course is designed as a<br />

study of practical experience in the installation of avionics systems<br />

in aircraft, mounting electronic equipment, construction <strong>and</strong><br />

installation of electrical wiring <strong>and</strong> cables, proper use of tools, <strong>and</strong><br />

selection of materials.<br />

AVNC 2345 Aviation Navigational Equipment Component Level<br />

Repair (2-4-3) Skills development in component level repair<br />

of modern aviation navigational systems including Very High<br />

Frequency Omni Range (VOR) <strong>and</strong> Instrument L<strong>and</strong>ing Systems<br />

(ILS). Emphasis on equipment block diagram <strong>and</strong> specialized test<br />

equipment will be covered in detail.<br />

AVNC 2350 Aviation Pulsed RF Equipment Component Level<br />

Repair (2-4-3) Skills development in component level repair of<br />

modern aviation pulsed Radio Frequency (RF) systems. Emphasis on<br />

equipment block diagram <strong>and</strong> specialized test equipment will be<br />

covered.<br />

AVNC 2355 Advanced Aviation Electronics Troubleshooting (2-4-3)<br />

A capstone course designed for students to demonstrate acquired<br />

knowledge of avionics systems as well as display techniques<br />

required to troubleshoot those systems. The student will face<br />

component level repair scenarios.<br />

AVNC 2357 Aviation Communication Component Level Repair (2-4-<br />

3) Skills development in component level repair of modern aviation<br />

communications <strong>and</strong> audio equipment. Emphasis on equipment<br />

block diagram <strong>and</strong> specialized test equipment will be covered.<br />

BIOM 1101 Biomedical Equipment Technology (1-0-1) Introduction<br />

to current biomedical job responsibilities, salaries, <strong>and</strong><br />

classifications in the health care industry.<br />

BIOM 1250 Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging System (1-4-2)<br />

Diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems. Covers basic systems<br />

troubleshooting <strong>and</strong> problem solving.<br />

BIOM 1270 Shop Skills for Biomedical Equipment Technicians<br />

(1-4-2) Skill development in the common repair tools <strong>and</strong> repair<br />

techniques used by the Biomedical Equipment Technician in the<br />

healthcare.<br />

BIOM 1291 Special Topics in Biomedical Engineering-Related<br />

Technology/Technician (1-4-2) A study of theory, principles<br />

<strong>and</strong> application of the effective administration of technology<br />

in the Health care environment with emphasis on the practical<br />

underst<strong>and</strong>ing of current technology trends <strong>and</strong> their implications<br />

on health care. Topics include codes/st<strong>and</strong>ards, computer networks,<br />

technology administration/integration <strong>and</strong> the effective servicing of<br />

technology.<br />

BIOM 1309 Applied Biomedical Equipment Technology (2-4-3)<br />

Introduction to biomedical instrumentation as related to anatomy<br />

<strong>and</strong> physiology. Includes medical devices for monitoring, diagnosis,<br />

<strong>and</strong> treatment of anatomical systems.<br />

BIOM 1315 Medical Equipment Networks (2-4-3) Identification<br />

of basic principles of medical equipment networking. Hardware,<br />

software, <strong>and</strong> connectivity issues of medical equipment in<br />

healthcare facilities will be covered. Prerequisite BIOM 1373<br />

BIOM 1341 Medical Circuits/Troubleshooting (2-4-3) Development<br />

of skills in troubleshooting of medical electronic circuits <strong>and</strong><br />

utilization of test equipment. Prerequisite CETT 1303, CETT 1305<br />

BIOM 1350 Diagnostic Ultrasound Imaging System (2-4-3)<br />

Diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems. Covers basic systems<br />

recording devices. Includes defibrillators <strong>and</strong> multi-purpose<br />

BIOM 2301 Safety in Health Care Facilities (2-4-3) Study of codes,<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> management principles related to biomedical<br />

instrumentation. Emphasizes application of safety test equipment,<br />

preventive maintenance procedures, <strong>and</strong> documentation of work<br />
