Career Services<br />
TSTC provides job placement services to all students<br />
<strong>and</strong> graduates. Every effort is made to assist registered<br />
c<strong>and</strong>idates as they seek full-time <strong>and</strong> part-time<br />
employment in business, industry <strong>and</strong> government. Career<br />
Services maintains information on employers, job listings<br />
<strong>and</strong> salaries. The staff schedules interview sessions,<br />
hosts industry job fairs for employers <strong>and</strong> coordinates<br />
communication between industry <strong>and</strong> the College.<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s are able to search for jobs, communicate directly<br />
with employers <strong>and</strong> post their résumés by logging in to<br />
their hireTSTC account at www.hireTSTC.com. <strong>Student</strong>s<br />
may access their hireTSTC account as early as their first<br />
semester.<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s may register as early as their first semester.<br />
The College places a high priority on helping graduating<br />
students find employment in their chosen field of<br />
study. The philosophy of the College is that its job is not<br />
complete when the student finishes his or her studies, but<br />
continues through assistance in securing employment.<br />
Career Services conducts follow-up studies which help<br />
to determine the effectiveness of education <strong>and</strong> training<br />
<strong>and</strong> overall student success. Career Services is committed<br />

<strong>Student</strong> Rights <strong>and</strong><br />
Responsibilities<br />
As members of the college community, TSTC <strong>Student</strong>s<br />
are entitled to certain rights associated with attending an<br />
institution of higher education. These rights are published<br />
<strong>and</strong> can be found online on the TSTC website <strong>and</strong> in SOS<br />
ES 3.23. <strong>Student</strong> Rights <strong>and</strong> Responsibilities.<br />
Statement of TSTC <strong>Student</strong> Rights<br />
<strong>and</strong> Responsibilities<br />
1. The right to freedom from discrimination on the basis<br />
of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin,<br />
genetic information, sexual orientation, disability,<br />
veteran status, or any other class that may be<br />
specified by laws or the United States Constitution.<br />
2. The right to develop one's individual potential.<br />
3. The right to expect a quality education.<br />
4. The right to pursue an education without undue<br />
interference.<br />
5. The right to be free from hazing, threats, stalking,<br />
violence, <strong>and</strong> other harassing actions.<br />
6. The right to petition the appropriate College unit or<br />
body for redress of grievances in accordance with<br />
College procedures.<br />
7. The right to confidentiality of official records,<br />
transcripts, disciplinary records, <strong>and</strong> other educational<br />
records consistent with the Family Educational Rights<br />
& Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 (Buckley Amendment).<br />
8. The right to communicate with administrators, faculty,<br />
<strong>and</strong> staff through appropriate processes.<br />
9. The right to publish <strong>and</strong> distribute information<br />
through the appropriate forums subject to<br />
the st<strong>and</strong>ards of reasonable journalism <strong>and</strong><br />
applicable regulations/statements of the United<br />
States Constitution, the Federal Communications<br />
Commission, <strong>and</strong> the College.<br />
10. The right, in accordance with the law <strong>and</strong> with College<br />
procedures, to freedom of speech <strong>and</strong> assembly which<br />
are subject to the College’s requirements for the<br />
maintenance <strong>and</strong> order <strong>and</strong> the protection of rights<br />
<strong>and</strong> privileges of other members in the College’s<br />
community.<br />
11. The right <strong>and</strong> opportunity to participate in the<br />
formulation of procedures directly affecting students<br />
through membership or appointment to appropriate<br />
committees as determined by the College, student<br />
leadership organizations, <strong>and</strong> other recognized groups<br />
within the College.<br />
12. The right of access to designated College facilities<br />
through student organizations that are recognized/<br />
approved by the College for business meetings,<br />
