course in application of troubleshooting principles <strong>and</strong> use of<br />

test instruments to diagnose air conditioning <strong>and</strong> refrigeration<br />

components <strong>and</strong> system problems including conducting<br />

performance tests. Prerequisite HART 1303, HART 1345, HART 1341<br />

HART 2338 Air Conditioning Installation <strong>and</strong> Startup (2-4-3) A<br />

study of air conditioning system installation, refrigerant piping,<br />

condensate disposal, <strong>and</strong> air cleaning equipment with emphasis on<br />

startup <strong>and</strong> performance testing.<br />

HART 2341 Commercial Air Conditioning (2-4-3) A study of<br />

components, applications, <strong>and</strong> installation of air conditioning<br />

systems with capacities of 25 tons or less. Prerequisite HART 1303,<br />

HART 2342 Commercial Refrigeration (2-4-3) Theory <strong>and</strong> practical<br />

application in the maintenance of commercial refrigeration; medium,<br />

HART 2343 Industrial Air Conditioning (2-4-3) A study of<br />

components, accessories, applications, <strong>and</strong> installation of air<br />

HART 2345 Residential Air Conditioning Systems Design (2-4-<br />

3) Study of the properties of air <strong>and</strong> results of cooling, heating,<br />

humidifying or dehumidifying; heat gain <strong>and</strong> heat loss calculations<br />

including equipment selection <strong>and</strong> balancing the air system.<br />

HART 2349 Heat Pumps (2-2-3) A study of heat pumps, heat pump<br />

advanced course covering the components, accessories, <strong>and</strong> service<br />

of specialized refrigeration units, such as ice machines, soft-serve<br />

machines, cryogenics, <strong>and</strong> cascade systems. Prerequisite HART 2336<br />

HART 2358 Testing, Adjusting, <strong>and</strong> Balancing HVAC Systems (2-4-3)<br />

A study in the process of checking <strong>and</strong> adjusting all the building<br />

environmental systems to produce the design objectives. Emphasis<br />

on efficiency <strong>and</strong> energy savings. Prerequisite HART 2331<br />

course in the principles of the operation of gas compressors <strong>and</strong><br />

natural gas engines.<br />

operation <strong>and</strong> maintenance of final drive track systems <strong>and</strong><br />

undercarriages used on track <strong>and</strong> wheel type equipment.<br />
