course designed to provide the student with basic knowledge of<br />

DEMR 1330 Steering <strong>and</strong> Suspension I (2-4-3) A study of design,<br />

function, maintenance, <strong>and</strong> repair of steering <strong>and</strong> suspension<br />

systems. Emphasis on troubleshooting <strong>and</strong> repair of failed<br />

components.<br />

DEMR 1380 Cooperative Education - Diesel Mechanics Technology/<br />

Technician (1-0-3) Career-related activities encountered in the<br />

student's area of specialization offered through an individualized<br />

agreement among the college, employer, <strong>and</strong> student. Under the<br />

supervision of the college <strong>and</strong> the employer, the student combines<br />

classroom learning with work experience. Includes a lecture<br />

component.<br />

DEMR 1410 Diesel Engine Testing <strong>and</strong> Repair I (2-4-4) An<br />

introduction to testing <strong>and</strong> repairing diesel engines including<br />

related systems <strong>and</strong> specialized tools.<br />

DEMR 1447 Power Train II (2-4-4) Continuation of fundamentals <strong>and</strong><br />

theory of power train systems. Emphasis on disassembly, inspection,<br />

<strong>and</strong> repair of power train components. Prerequisite DEMR 1321 or<br />

DEMR 1680 Cooperative Education - Diesel Mechanics Technology/<br />

science of diagnostics with a common sense approach. Prerequisite<br />

DEMR 2335 Advanced Hydraulics (2-4-3) Advanced study of<br />

hydraulic systems <strong>and</strong> components including diagnostics <strong>and</strong><br />

testing of hydraulic systems. Prerequisite DEMR 1316 or DEMR 1416<br />

DEMR 2344 Automatic Power Shift <strong>and</strong> Hydrostatic Transmissions II<br />

(2-4-3) Extended study of the operation, maintenance, <strong>and</strong> repair of<br />

automatic power shift hydrostatic transmissions. Prerequisite DEMR<br />

1321 or DEMR 2312 or DEMR 2412<br />

DEMR 2348 Failure Analysis (2-4-3) An advanced course designed<br />

for analysis of typical part failures on equipment.<br />

DEMR 2412 Diesel Engine Testing <strong>and</strong> Repair II (2-4-4) Continuation<br />

of Diesel Engine Testing <strong>and</strong> Repair I. Coverage of testing <strong>and</strong><br />

repairing diesel engines including related systems <strong>and</strong> specialized<br />

tools. Prerequisite DEMR 1410 (Prerequisite or Corequisite)<br />

DFTG 1309 Basic Computer-Aided Drafting (2-4-3) An introduction<br />

to computer-aided drafting. Emphasis is placed on setup; creating<br />

<strong>and</strong> modifying geometry; storing <strong>and</strong> retrieving predefined shapes;<br />

placing, rotating, <strong>and</strong> scaling objects, adding text <strong>and</strong> dimensions,<br />

using layers, coordinate systems, <strong>and</strong> plot/print to scale.<br />

DFTG 1313 Drafting for Specific Occupations (2-4-3) Discussion<br />

of theory <strong>and</strong> practice with drafting methods <strong>and</strong> the terminology<br />

required to prepare working drawings in specific or various<br />

occupational fields.<br />

DFTG 1317 Architectural Drafting - Residential (2-4-3) Architectural<br />

drafting procedures, practices, terms, <strong>and</strong> symbols. Preparation<br />

of detailed working drawings for residential structures. Emphasis<br />

on light frame construction methods. Prerequisite ARCE 1321<br />

DFTG 1325 Blueprint Reading <strong>and</strong> Sketching (2-4-3) An introduction<br />

to reading <strong>and</strong> interpreting working drawings for fabrication<br />

processes <strong>and</strong> associated trades. Use of sketching techniques to<br />

create pictorial <strong>and</strong> multiple-view drawings.<br />

DFTG 1329 Electro-Mechanical Drafting (2-4-3) A basic course<br />

including layout <strong>and</strong> design of electro-mechanical equipment<br />

from engineering notes <strong>and</strong> sketches. Prerequisite DFTG 1309<br />

DFTG 1330 Civil Drafting 1 (2-4-3) Preparation of civil drawings<br />

including drafting methods <strong>and</strong> principles used in civil engineering.<br />

DFTG 1333 Mechanical Drafting (2-4-3) Study of mechanical<br />

drawings using dimensioning <strong>and</strong> tolerances, sectioning techniques,<br />

DFTG 1345 Parametric Modeling <strong>and</strong> Design (2-4-3) Parametricbased<br />

design software for 3D design <strong>and</strong> drafting. Prerequisite<br />

DFTG 1309 (Prerequisite or Corequisite) OSA may be exempt from<br />

DFTG 1358 Electrical/Electronics Drafting (2-4-3) Electrical <strong>and</strong><br />

electronic drawings stressing modern representation used for block<br />

diagrams, schematic diagrams, logic diagrams, wiring/assembly<br />

drawings, printed circuit board layouts, motor control diagrams,<br />

power distribution diagrams, <strong>and</strong> electrical one-line diagrams.<br />

DFTG 1393 Special Topics in Civil Drafting Civil Engineering Cad/<br />

Cadd (2-4-3) Topics address recently identified current events,<br />

skills, knowledge, <strong>and</strong>/or attitudes <strong>and</strong> behaviors pertinent to<br />

the technology or occupation <strong>and</strong> relevant to the professional<br />

development of the student. This course was designed to be<br />
