Type 94 A Sprung Dolphin brooches. Two-piece brooches with comma-shaped<br />

bow, often tapering to a point, and with a thick and rounded head. <strong>The</strong><br />

semicylindrical side-wings tend to be long and may be plain or decorated. <strong>The</strong><br />

spring is attached by a rearward-facing hook over the external chord.<br />

54 SF LWC 3440(C), J1232 F419. Pit, Period 1. Length 33.0 mm. Only the<br />

pin of this corroded brooch is missing, though the twelve-turn spring and<br />

the side-wings are in several fragments. <strong>The</strong> bow is thick and D-shaped in<br />

section, with traces of grooving. <strong>The</strong> end of each side-wing is grooved
