BRACKETS OR TIE-STRIPS<br />

4077 SF BKC 1009, D376. Town ditch fill. Late Period 6 or Anglo-Saxon.<br />

Iron. Flat strip. 169.0 mm long. 16.5 mm wide, 9.0 mm thick. Both ends<br />

are damaged. Each end appears to widen out around a large perforation.<br />

4078 SF BKC 4850(C), E221 F536. Pier base robber backfill. Period 6. A<br />

fragment of a flat strip. 60.5 mm long, 38.0 mm wide, 2.5 mm thick.<br />

<strong>The</strong>re is a rivet hole in the centre of the fragment.<br />

4081 SF BKC 6017. J218. Pit material. Modern or Periods 5-6? Iron. A<br />

right-angled fitting similar to Fig 130. 4079 but both ends are damaged.<br />

Length of largest surviving arm (externally) 68.0 mm.<br />

4082 SF BKC 6005. H478 F123. Foundation? Period 5b2. Iron. A more or less<br />

flat strip. rectangular in section. 9.0 by 30.0 mm. Length 156.0 mm.<br />

4083 SF BKC 4551(C), T25 F15. Pit. Period 5 (a or) b. Iron. A fragment of<br />

a flat sheet of iron (2.0 mm thick) with two contiguous straight edges at<br />

right angles and a curving edge running up towards the longer (98.0 mm)<br />

of the two straight edges. <strong>The</strong>re are two studs or rivets set 8.0 mm in<br />

from the longest edge.<br />

4084 SF BKC 5150. T456. Rests on natural. Period 1. Iron. A distorted thin<br />

strip, rectangular in section, varying in width. Approximately 200.0 mm<br />

long.<br />
