MT/BT IN CAMPANIA REGION
Key words: ELF, power lines, exposed population.
ABSTRACT. In order to assess exposure of the general population
to ELF magnetic fields, intensity level and magnetic induction
measurements were performed in the proximity of transformer stations
and high voltage lines in Campania. Twenty high voltage lines,
three mid-high voltage transformer stations and ten low-mid voltage
transformer stations were studied. The resulting levels were always
lower than 3 µTesla, which is the quality goal threshold indicated
by DPCM 8-7-2003 for general population exposure to low frequency
magnetic fields (50 Hz).
