CERAMIC INDUSTRY FIGURES
Riportiamo i dati che emergono dall’Indagine
Statistica Nazionale realizzata
dal Centro Studi Confindustria
Ceramica sulle industrie di piastrelle
di ceramica, ceramica sanitaria, stoviglieria
e materiali refrattari relative
all’anno 2010. Il settore conta oggi 284
aziende e 37.990 addetti, in grado di
fatturare 6.517 milioni di euro derivanti
da 2.552 milioni da vendite sul mercato
domestico (e di queste ben 815,6 derivano
dalle vendite delle fabbriche
estere sullo stesso mercato sede degli
stabilimenti) e da 3.965 milioni di euro
di esportazioni nei cinque continenti.
Comparto regina è quello delle piastrelle
di ceramica che, con le sue 172
imprese (-9 unità rispetto al 2009) ha
prodotto 387,4 milioni di metri quadrati
(+5,29%) vendendone 412,8 milioni
(+1,07%) grazie ad una ripresa delle
esportazioni del +2,99% (289,2 milioni
di metri quadrati i volumi complessivi)
a cui si contrappone una flessione
delle vendite sul mercato interno:
123,6 milioni di metri quadrati, -3,15%.
In ripresa, grazie anche alla crescita
dei prezzi medi sul mercato estero, il
fatturato che raggiunge i 4.629 milioni
di euro (+2,70%). La presenza di fabbriche
all’estero controllate da gruppi
ceramici italiani, importanti teste di
ponte per supportare anche i flussi
esportativi dall’Italia, vale oggi il 17%
dell’attività del comparto piastrella
italiana inteso nella sua accezione
più ampia. Le 43 imprese italiane attive
nella ceramica sanitaria hanno continuato,
anche nel corso del 2010, a registrare
una sostanziale stagnazione
nei livelli di attività, testimoniata da
quasi tutti gli indicatori. In vigorosa
ripresa invece, con diversi parametri in

doppia cifra, il 2010 per l’industria dei
materiali refrattari. Le 37 imprese manifatturiere
hanno aumentato la produzione
a 502.100 tonnellate (+21,26%)
trainate da una altrettanto forte
(+18,91%) espansione delle vendite.
The following are some figures that
have emerged from the National
Statistics Survey carried out by the
Ceramics Confindustria Studies
Centre on the ceramics tiles, ceramics
sanitary ware, crockery and refractory
materials industries for the year
2010. Today the sector numbers some
284 companies and 37,990 employees, and
generates a turnover of 6,517 million
euro deriving from 2,552 million sales
on the domestic market (and of these
no less than 815.6 are due to sales of
foreign factories on the same market
where the factories are located) and
from 3,965 million euro of exports in
five continents. The leading compartment
is that for ceramic tiles which,
with its 172 companies (-9 units relative
to 2009), has produced 387.4 million
square metres (+5.29%) of tiles,
selling 412.8 million (+1.07%) thanks
to a recovery in exports of +2.99%
(289.2 million square metres, in overall
volumes), relative to a decrease
in sales on the domestic market: 123.6
million square metres, -3.15%. On the
way to recovery, thanks not least to
an increase in average prices on foreign
markets, the figure for turnover
reached 4,629 million euro (+2.70%).
The presence of factories abroad, controlled
by Italian ceramics groups,
represent major bridgeheads in supporting
export flows from Italy, and
today comprise 17% of the overall activity
of the Italian tile compartment.

significant stagnation in their
levels of activity, as demonstrated
by almost all indicators. On the other
hand, the refractory materials industry
achieved a vigorous recovery
in 2010, with various parameters enjoying
double figures. The 37 manufacturing
companies have increased production
to 502,100 tons (+21.26%), encouraged
by a similarly strong (+18.91%) expansion
in sales.

MANFREDINI RE-ELECTED
Eletto con il 100% dei voti, Franco
Manfredini è stato confermato
dall’Assemblea di Confindustria
Ceramica in qualità di Presidente
dell’Associazione per il biennio 2011-
2012. Cavaliere del lavoro, nel maggio
1986 è entrato a far parte per la
prima volta del Consiglio Direttivo
di Assopiastrelle e nel corso degli
anni ha ricoperto la presidenza di diverse
Commissioni consultive. Primo
dipendente di Casalgrande Padana
nel 1961, ne è diventato Presidente e
Amministratore Delegato nel 1974.
Elected with 100% of the votes,
Franco Manfredini has been confirmed
by the General Meeting of
Confindustria Ceramica as Chairman
of the Association for the two year
period 2011-2012. Knight of Industry in
May 1986 he joined the Assopiastrelle
Management Board for the first time,
and over the years has occupied the
position of Chairman on various consultancy
Commissions. The first employee
of Casalgrande Padana in 1961,
he became its Managing Director and
Chairman in 1974.
