Breed<strong>in</strong>g history<br />
Langhe sheep are bred <strong>in</strong> Langhe Region <strong>in</strong> the Prov<strong>in</strong>ce of Cunea<br />
(Piedmonte). Breed<strong>in</strong>g concentrates on 2 to 5 animals. Activities<br />
(BLUP-ANIMAL-MODEL) were started <strong>in</strong> 1993 to genetically improve<br />
the breed.<br />

Bergamasca (I)<br />
Description of the Breed<br />
Langhe is a white polled sheep. Rams weight 82 kg on average. In<br />
some external features, it has similarities with Bergamasca. Langhe<br />
sheep are, however, much smaller.<br />
