/ “Logistikbude“: The New
Fraunhofer IML Spin-off
/ The new start-up, “Logistikbude“, was launched on October
28, 2021, as a spin-off from Fraunhofer IML. Four institute
scientists developed a software for load carrier management
that aims to provide companies with better traceability of their
stocks and processes. The tracking and management of load
carriers is often still done manually or using complex technical
systems. The web-based software from Logistikbude (which
shares the same name) can now make company processes
more efficient. The start-up was founded by scientists Philipp
Wrycza, Michael Koscharnyj, Patrik Elfert and Jan Möller.
Originally, the scientists developed the platform as part of the
joint Enterprise Lab with the European Pallet Association (EPAL)
at Fraunhofer IML. They also used open source components
from the Silicon Economy large-scale research project for their
software. The project is now funded through the German
Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action’s
EXIST research transfer initiative.
Logistikbude’s software labels the load carriers, meaning that
they can be identified using a scanner app, and stores the processes
in a digital file so that they can be kept track of. The load
carriers are also managed fully digitally, from the intuitive online
input screen to data import via API or CSV and the connected
app. The app records the exchange process, making it accessible
to both parties, and debits their accounts automatically in a
legally secure and traceable manner. Because of its cloud technology,
Logistikbude is easy to use and requires no installation.
