Silicon Economy
Schritt für Schritt in die Silicon Economy
/ Step by Step towards the Silicon Economy
Umsetzungsprojekte »Silicon Economy Logistics Ecosystem«
einzuordnen. Aufbauend darauf entsteht derzeit zudem eine
»Gebrauchsanweisung« für die Silicon Economy.
/ The Silicon Economy is synonymous with a digital infrastructure
based on the automated negotiation, scheduling
and control of the flow of goods. As such, Silicon Economy
solutions support their users to efficiently overcome typical
logistics challenges – from increasing service quality to integrating
new partners to reducing environmental footprints. The
Silicon Economy is being driven by two major implementation
projects: “Silicon Economy Logistics Ecosystem,” funded by the
German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure
(BMDV), and “Blockchain Europe”, a project to establish
the European Blockchain Institute in North Rhine- Westphalia,
funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation,
Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
These umbrella projects have given rise to a total of 15
development projects in which more than 150 researchers are
working on technical and economic concepts and concrete
developments for a digital platform ecosystem. The Silicon
Economy community has grown to include just as many
companies, organizations and institutions: They are all waiting
in the wings, ready to deploy, test and refine the components
developed over the course of the projects.
A new overview of key user perspectives of the Silicon
Economy – marketing new solutions (new business),
developing market differentiation (better business) and
focusing on the essentials (smarter business) – enables
companies to better classify the opportunities and potential
offered by the Silicon Economy. Building on from this,
“Instructions for use” for the Silicon Economy are currently
being drawn up.
