RPS-Studie – Softwaregestützte
Personalplanung im Lager
/ RPS Study – Using Software
to Support HR Planning in Warehouses
Lagerstandort plant. Zu den Gründen für diesen Digitalisierungsschritt
gehört eine gesteigerte Planungsgenauigkeit.
/ Automation and digitalization may be increasing, but human
beings remain an important resource in the warehouse thanks
to their flexibility and extensive capacity for learning. In order
to ensure the optimal integration of employees, it is essential
to tailor your HR planning and management to your particular
needs and requirements. A variety of software systems are on
offer to help with this, including resource planning systems
(RPS).
Working as part of the “Team warehouse logistics” initiative,
Fraunhofer IML and Fraunhofer Austria conducted a study on
how warehouse operators and software providers view the
current and planned use of RPS and logistics IT systems, as well
as the range of RPS products on offer. German-based Amazon
Logistics centers, topsystem GmbH and prismat GmbH were all
collaboration partners in the study.
The scope of the study included systems used for HR planning,
the impact these systems have on employees and the challenges
of introducing RPS systems. The researchers surveyed 95
warehouse locations and 20 providers of RPS software from
various industries.
Using a variety of analyses and graphics, the published study
provides insights into software-supported human resources
planning in the context of warehouses. It shows that digital
resource planning is already established across multiple industries,
but, as it stands, there is a wide variety in the software
systems used. In the future, the focus will increasingly move to
specialized systems such as RPS, which one in three warehouse
locations are already planning to introduce. The increased
planning accuracy these systems allow is just one factor behind
this step towards digitalization.
