Westinghouse VacClad-W world class<br />
medium voltage metal-clad switchgear<br />
with type VCP-W vacuum power <strong>circuit</strong><br />
<strong>breakers</strong> was introduced in 1986. VCP-W<br />
<strong>breakers</strong> and switchgear were similar to<br />
but not interchangeable with the original<br />
Vac-Clad (VCP) product.<br />
The VCP-W design includes a consolidation<br />
of improvements in product design<br />

However, VCP-W still includes many of the<br />

epoxy insulation on the switchgear<br />
phase buses. VCP-W <strong>breakers</strong> withdraw<br />
onto removable switchgear rail assemblies<br />
for ease of inspection. VCP-W <strong>breakers</strong> and<br />
Cutler-Hammer offers an extensive<br />
amount of products to support VacClad-W<br />
switchgear.<br />

VCP-W vacuum power <strong>circuit</strong> <strong>breakers</strong> are<br />
available in all published ratings.<br />
Renewal Parts<br />
Cutler-Hammer offers an extensive inventory<br />
of newly manufactured renewal parts<br />
for VCP-W switchgear structures and<br />
<strong>breakers</strong>.<br />

cycloaliphatic epoxy insulation for breaker<br />

Chronology<br />
VacClad-W switchgear was introduced in<br />
1986 and is the current state-of-the-art<br />
Westinghouse switchgear product.<br />
The VCP-WSE breaker with special<br />
cycloaliphatic epoxy insulation and the<br />
27 kV VCP-W rating were introduced in<br />
1990. IEC VCP-W ratings were introduced<br />
in 1991. 38 kV was introduced in 1995.<br />
Fluidized Switchgear Bus<br />
Cutler-Hammer offers new fluidized epoxy<br />
bus – insulated bus to replace existing<br />
switchgear phase bus insulation.<br />
