Any bus bar shape or configuration is uniformly<br />

coated. There are no dielectric weak spots and<br />

taping is not necessary.<br />

SWITCHGEAR UPGRADES<br />

DHP, VCP, VCP-W<br />

Switchgear upgrades are available from<br />

Cutler-Hammer to increase the MVA and<br />

continuous current ratings of the entire<br />

assembly.<br />

Cutler-Hammer offers IQ products to<br />

replace existing analog meters, instruments<br />

and protective relays with microprocessor-based<br />

solid-state true-RMS sensing<br />

devices. IQ products can be furnished as<br />

components for field installation on the<br />

switchgear or can be provided as new<br />

replacement front panels. The new replacement<br />

front panels available for DHP, VCP<br />

and VCP-W switchgear assemblies includes<br />

the IQ devices mounted and wired. Wire<br />

markers and wiring diagrams are provided<br />

for ease of installation. The existing panel is<br />

removed, the new panel is set in place and<br />

the solid-state devices are wired into the<br />

switchgear unit. The IQ products can be<br />

matched in numerous combinations to<br />

include the Digitrip MV, IQ Analyzer,<br />

IQ Data Plus II,<br />

IQ Data, IQ Generator and<br />

the IQ Data Plus 4000/4100. Communications<br />

can then be tied to the Cutler-Hammer<br />

IMPACC System.<br />

Cutler-Hammer offers a cost effective program<br />

that can extend the life of any manufacturers’<br />

equipment by reconditioning or<br />

replacing the bus and insulating it with fluidized<br />

bed epoxy. The bus insulation in<br />

many existing switchgear assemblies may<br />

be Noryl, Micarta, redacta, heat shrink<br />

tubing or fiberglass. These materials are<br />

adversely affected by aging, environment<br />

and operating conditions. The solution to<br />

these concerns can be answered with the<br />

high quality, state-of-the-art system and<br />

superiority offered by the fluidized bed<br />

epoxy process. Customers can utilize any<br />

of the following services to fit specific<br />

switchgear applications from 600V to 15kV:<br />

● Bus Reconditioning<br />

● Bus Replacement<br />

● Bus Duct Reconditioning<br />

● Bus Duct Replacement<br />

Coated bus bars pass through a post-heat oven<br />
