14. Property, plant and equipment continued As at 31 March 2012 there were no land, buildings or dwellings valued at open market value. During 2011/12 the District Valuer conducted an interim valuation on the Trust's land and buildings. The results of this exercise were used to ensure that land and buildings were reported at fair value as at 31 March 2012. For all other items of non-current assets, depreciated historic cost is considered to be a reasonable indicator of fair value. Economic life of property, plant and equipment is as follows: Buildings - Five to 99 years (dependent on component) Plant and machinery - Five to 10 years Transport equipment - Seven years Information technology - Three to five years Furniture and fittings - Five to 10 years. 15.
