• Special Abilities:<br />
– Aquatic: Mermen can breathe air and water equally well. They<br />
swim at Pace 8, and are immune to the cold and high pressure of<br />
deep water.<br />
– Low Light Vision: They ignore Dim and Dark lighting penalties.<br />
– Weakness (Waterbound): Mermen cannot survive long out of the<br />
sea. After an hour, they must begin making a Vigor roll every 10<br />
minutes or become Fatigued.<br />
14.4. Mosquitos, Giant<br />
These foot-long bloodsuckers are a nuisance alone; when attacking en<br />
masse, they are deadly.<br />
• Attributes: Agility d10, Smarts d4 (A), Spirit d6, Strength d4, Vigor<br />
d6<br />
• Skills: Fighting d6, Notice d6<br />
• Pace: 2; Parry: 5; Toughness: 5<br />
• Special Abilities:<br />
– Fearless: Giant mosquitos lack the brains to feel fear; they’re<br />
immune to Fear, Intimidation, and Taunts.<br />
– Fly: Giant mosquitos have a Flying Pace of 10”.<br />
– Poison: if the Giant mosquito gets at least a Shaken result with<br />
his Proboscis (see below), it injects the target with its poison.<br />
Make a Vigor roll; if you fail, you take a level of Fatigue. You<br />
can’t be reduced below Incapacitated by it. An hours rest will<br />
remove all but one of the Fatigue levels; this one remains for 24<br />
hours, due to the intense itching sensation created by the bites.<br />
Helpless Incapacitated targets are killed<br />
– Proboscis: Str+d4 damage.<br />
– Slow: On the ground, giant mosquitos can only move at a Pace<br />
2, and can’t run.<br />
