18.10. Spectre (WC)<br />
Malevolent spirits from beyond the grave, spectres feed on fear and are<br />
among the most feared of the undead.<br />
• Attributes: Agility d8, Smarts d6, Spirit d12, Strength n/a, Vigor d10<br />
• Skills: Fighting d8, Guts d8, Intimidation d10, Notice d8, Stealth<br />
d12+2<br />
• Pace: 6; Parry: 6; Toughness: 9<br />
• Special Abilities:<br />
– Chilling Touch: By making a touch attack, a spectre can drain<br />
vitality. Make a Vigor roll at -2; if you fail, you lose 1 die type of<br />
both Strength and Vigor. If either of these is reduced under d4,<br />
the victim is Incapacitated and will die in 1d6 rounds. A Healing<br />
spell will return one level of each Attribute, while Greater Healing<br />
will return all lost levels. Another spell or mundane Healing<br />
is required to remove Incapacitation status.<br />
– Fear -2: A spectre must be visible to use this power.<br />
– Incorporeal: Normally, a spectre is invisible and incorporeal.<br />
When it decides to use its touch attack, it becomes visible and<br />
partially corporeal and must remain so for 3 rounds. In this state,<br />
it can still only be harmed by Arcane effects, or magic or blessed<br />
weapons. It can become visible at any time, for as long as it<br />
wishes, while still remaining incorporeal.<br />
– Undead: +2 Toughness; +2 to recover from being Shaken; No<br />
wound penalties; Immune to disease and poison; No additional<br />
damage from called shots.<br />
– Unholy Spirit: Spectres cannot enter onto sanctified ground, and<br />
must make a Guts check in the face of holy symbols.<br />
18.11. Spiders, Giant<br />
18.11.1. Trapdoor Spider<br />
These spiders hide just beneath the surface of the earth, springing up when<br />
prey (i.e., anything smaller than them!) comes within easy reach.<br />
• Attributes: Agility d10, Smarts d6 (A), Spirit d10, Strength d12+1,<br />
Vigor d8<br />
• Skills: Fighting d8, Guts d10, Notice d12, Stealth d10<br />
