ZONE (DISTRICT CLASSIFICATIONS) 1.31<br />

1.31 (AG) Agricultural Zoning District.<br />

This Zoning District is intended to conserve and protect agricultural land and related<br />

activities in their present character and to prevent urban and agricultural land use conflicts. The<br />

General Plan land use classification for this District is Low Density Residential.<br />

A. Permitted uses.<br />

1. One (1) single-family dwelling unit on any lot or parcel (10 acre minimum).<br />

2. Grazing and harvesting <strong>of</strong> field, tree, or bush crops including flowers.<br />

3. Aviaries and apiaries; providing buildings, pens, or hives are not closer than two<br />

hundred (200) feet to any residential area.<br />

4. Plant nurseries and greenhouses for the propagation, cultivation, and wholesale<br />

distribution <strong>of</strong> plants produced on the premises.<br />

5. Dairies, poultry, bird, and egg farms, public stables; provided that pens, buildings,<br />

and enclosures other than open pasture are not closer than two hundred (200) feet<br />

to any property line, not closer than two hundred (200) feet to any street, highway,<br />

or residential district.<br />

6. Commercial breeding, raising, training, and feeding principally by grazing <strong>of</strong><br />

horses, cattle, sheep, and goats; provided that pens, buildings, corrals, and yards<br />

other than open pasture are not closer than two hundred (200) feet to any property<br />

line, nor closer than two hundred (200) feet to any street, highway, or residential<br />

district.<br />

7. Home occupations.<br />

8. Accessory uses and buildings customarily incidental to any use allowed in this<br />

Section; provided that if any necessary building contains sleeping quarters it shall<br />

maintain the side yards otherwise required.<br />

9. Public utility buildings and facilities when necessary for serving the surrounding<br />

territory; provided, that no public business <strong>of</strong>fices and no repair or storage<br />

facilities are maintained therein.<br />

10. Golf courses.<br />

11. Churches or similar places <strong>of</strong> worship.<br />

12. Group homes for the handicapped, so long as the supplemental conditions <strong>of</strong><br />

Section 2.67 are complied with.<br />

13. Uses requiring Use Permits<br />

a. Sales stands for the sale <strong>of</strong> farm or ranch products produced on the premises<br />

or items similar to these products, or related to the sale <strong>of</strong> these products.<br />

b. Veterinary clinics, pounds, shelters and dog kennels.<br />

c. Cemetery, crematory, and mausoleum<br />

d. Extractive industries, including the removal <strong>of</strong> sand, rock, soil, and gravel<br />
