GILBERT UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE<br />

2. The right <strong>of</strong> one vehicle or pedestrian to proceed in a lawful manner in preference<br />

to another vehicle or pedestrian.<br />

RIGHT-OF-WAY<br />

ROADSIDE STAND: An accessory structure for the seasonal retail sale <strong>of</strong> grown or produced<br />

food products on the lot. \<br />

ROADWAY: The portion <strong>of</strong> the highway including shoulders, for vehicle use.<br />

ROADWAY; SHARED: Any roadway upon which a bicycle land is not designated and which<br />

may be legally used by bicycles regardless <strong>of</strong> whether such facility is specifically designated as a<br />

bikeway.<br />

SANITARY LANDFILL: A site used for the disposal <strong>of</strong> refuse from more than one (1)<br />

residential premise, and/or by one (1) or more commercial, industrial, manufacturing or municipal<br />

operations.<br />

SATELLITE DISH ANTENNAE: A parabolic antennae designed to receive electromagnetic<br />

transmissions from a satellite.<br />

SCHOOL: A privately or publicly owned place <strong>of</strong> learning, including, but not limited to:<br />

nursery or pre-schools, elementary schools, middle-schools, junior high schools, or high schools,<br />

which do not provide lodging for students or faculty.<br />

SCHOOL, BOARDING: An elementary school, middle-school, junior high school, or high<br />

school which provides lodging or dwelling for students or faculty on the same property.<br />

SCHOOL, BUSINESS, TECHNICAL OR TRADE: A school, other than a college or<br />

university, which may be operated as a commercial venture, and which provides part-time or fulltime<br />

education beyond the high school level and does not provide lodging or dwelling units for<br />

students or faculty.<br />

SCRAP AND SALVAGE SERVICES: An establishment primarily engaged in the storage, sale,<br />

dismantling or other processing <strong>of</strong> used or waste materials which are not intended for re-use in<br />

their original forms, such as automotive wrecking yards, metal salvage yards, or paper salvage<br />

yards.<br />
