<strong>of</strong> signs associated 'with a multi-tenant or multi-use building or complex <strong>of</strong> buildings.<br />

Sign, pennant Any flag intended to draw attention to a particular use or service on the site<br />

where the pennant is located. Local, state, and national flags are exempt from the<br />

requirements <strong>of</strong> this Article unless intended to act as a pennant.<br />

Sign, permanent. Any sign which is intended to be, and is so constructed as to be a lasting and<br />

enduring condition remaining unchanged in character) condition beyond normal wear and tear, and<br />

in a permanent manner affixed to the ground, wall, or building; provided the sign is permitted by this<br />

Article.<br />

Sign, plan A plan required to be submitted 'With an application for a sign permit. The plan may show a<br />

single sign or multiple signs for a planned area development.<br />

Sign, pole A permanent freestanding sign supported by a single column, upright, pole or post which<br />

is not designed to comply with the design guidelines for freestanding signs specified in Section<br />

3.31.<br />

Sign, political A temporary sign which supports candidates for <strong>of</strong>fice or urges action on any other<br />

matter on the ballot <strong>of</strong> primary, general and special elections relating to any national, state or local<br />

election.<br />

Sign, portable. A temporary sign that is not permanently affixed to a building, structure, or the<br />

ground, including such commercial signs carried by people or otherwise set in motion and visible<br />

from the right-<strong>of</strong>-way.<br />

Sign, real estate A temporary sign advertising the development, sale, transfer, lease, exchange or rent <strong>of</strong><br />

real property or properties.<br />

Sign residential subdivision entry . A sign placed at the entrance to a multifamily or duplex<br />

development, or single-family development only in order to identify the name <strong>of</strong> the development.<br />

Sign ro<strong>of</strong> An attached sign extending above the plate line <strong>of</strong> a building or structure,<br />

Sign, sales lease and rent J1t Temporary signs, which indicate that a parcel or building is currently for<br />

sale, lease or rent.<br />

Sign structure The supports, uprights, braces and framework <strong>of</strong> a sign.<br />

Sign, subdivision entry A sign which is placed on the perimeter <strong>of</strong> a recorded subdivision,<br />

townhouse project, commercial district, master planned community, hotel, motel or guest ranch at<br />

a major street or driveway entrance to identify the name <strong>of</strong> the interior project, Such signs<br />

may flank both sides <strong>of</strong> the entrance and may include ground or landscape wall sign types.<br />

Sign, subdivision directional A temporary sign intended to convey the location <strong>of</strong> an approved<br />

subdivision.<br />

Sign, suspended A sign suspended from a ro<strong>of</strong> overhang <strong>of</strong> a covered porch or walkway, which<br />

identifies the tenant <strong>of</strong> the adjoining space.<br />

Sign, temporary . Any type <strong>of</strong> sign not permanently attached to the ground, wall or building, intended to<br />

be displayed only for a specified period <strong>of</strong> time.<br />
