for buildings shall be placed underground. Overhead wires are prohibited.<br />

G. Signage shall be considered an integral design element <strong>of</strong> any building and shall be<br />

compatible with the exterior architecture with regard to location, scale, color and lettering.<br />

H. The siting <strong>of</strong> metal or steel buildings along public streets shall be discouraged. Any such<br />

buildings shall be architecturally altered, through the construction <strong>of</strong> veneers, facades or<br />

other architectural details and facades shall be installed on all sides <strong>of</strong> the building visible by<br />

the public from a public street.<br />

1. All buildings located within a larger development, such as a shopping center, shall be<br />

architecturally styled to achieve harmony and continuity <strong>of</strong> design. The elevations <strong>of</strong> such<br />

buildings shall be coordinated with regard to color, texture, materials, finishes and<br />

architectural form.<br />

J. The architecture <strong>of</strong> buildings shall be in accordance with design guidelines adopted by the<br />

<strong>Town</strong> Council for buildings located outside the Heritage District. The architecture <strong>of</strong><br />

buildings in the Heritage District shall be in accordance with the design guidelines adopted<br />

by the Redevelopment Commission. The architectural character <strong>of</strong> a proposed structure shall<br />

be in harmony with and compatible to those in the immediate proximity, but avoiding<br />

excessive variety or monotony.<br />
