Women with a Visi<strong>on</strong> (WWAV). According to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> informati<strong>on</strong> received, <strong>on</strong><br />
24 May 2012, an unidentified pers<strong>on</strong> broke into <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>fices <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> WWAV and<br />
started at least four fires, which subsequently spread throughout <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> entire<br />
building. Reports state that <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> room most targeted was that in which <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
rights-based trainings <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> WWAV were c<strong>on</strong>ducted and where sexual and<br />
reproductive health training materials were stored. WWAV is a women‘s<br />
rights organizati<strong>on</strong> based in New Orleans, Louisiana, which seeks to<br />
improve <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> lives <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> marginalized women through <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> use <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> advocacy,<br />
health educati<strong>on</strong>, supportive services and research. The ars<strong>on</strong> attack<br />
reportedly coincided with WWAV's vocal oppositi<strong>on</strong> to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> enactment <strong>on</strong> 22<br />
May 2012 <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> a law related to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> terminati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> pregnancy by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> legislature<br />

beginning <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> year are alleged to take place following unfair trials, for<br />
drug-related <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>fences, which are not c<strong>on</strong>sidered most serious crimes under<br />
internati<strong>on</strong>al human rights law.
