large rally called ―Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat‖ (―people uprising rally‖)<br />
during which no incident occurred thanks to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> facilitative approach<br />
adopted by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> police prior to and throughout <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> rally. However, it is<br />
reported that <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> police have been searching for 14 activists who allegedly<br />
brought children to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> rally, in breach <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Secti<strong>on</strong> 4(2) <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Peaceful<br />

informati<strong>on</strong> received, <strong>on</strong> 1, 2, 4 and 5 February 2013, thousands <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> families<br />
from <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Maiombe neighbourhood <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Cacuaco municipality, in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> capital <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
Luanda, have been forcibly evicted by Government <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>ficials and private<br />
security forces, and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>ir houses have been demolished. It is fur<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r alleged<br />
that some individuals have been beaten in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> process, and that at least six<br />
people have been arrested when attempting to resist <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> demoliti<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
Allegedly, hundreds <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> o<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r families who remained in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> ruins <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>ir<br />
homes after <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> demoliti<strong>on</strong>s are currently at risk <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> being forcibly evicted.<br />

Alegaci<strong>on</strong>es de un atentado c<strong>on</strong>tra la vida de un sacerdote y defensor de<br />
derechos humanos. Según las informaci<strong>on</strong>es recibidas, el 13 de febrero de<br />
2013 el coche en el que viajaba el Padre Alberto Franco recibió el impacto<br />
de tres balas de pistola en su parabrisas. Asimismo, el Padre Franco habría<br />
sido objeto de seguimiento y actos de intimidación en el pasado en c<strong>on</strong>exión<br />
c<strong>on</strong> su trabajo y declaraci<strong>on</strong>es públicas sobre la devolución de predios<br />
colectivos en Curbaradó. El Padre Franco forma parte de la Comisión<br />
Intereclesial de Justicia y Paz, organización que trabaja en la promoción y<br />
defensa de los derechos humanos en Colombia. Esta organización vendría<br />
siendo victima de una campaña de desprestigio, acusándoles de tener<br />
c<strong>on</strong>exi<strong>on</strong>es c<strong>on</strong> un grupo para-militar. Dicha campaña se habría<br />
presuntamente intensificado en c<strong>on</strong>exión c<strong>on</strong> un caso ante la Corte<br />
Interamericana impulsado por la organización.<br />
