Alleged physical attacks and threats against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and<br />

transgender (LGBT) rights defenders, including members <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

organizati<strong>on</strong>s Kosovo 2.0 and Libertas. According to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> informati<strong>on</strong><br />

received, <strong>on</strong> 14 December 2012, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> website Kosovo 2.0 was due to launch<br />

its new print issue, which focused <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>me <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> sexuality. On <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> evening<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> launch, a group <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> individuals allegedly entered <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> building where<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> event was taking place, destroying <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> stage and physically attacking a<br />

member <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Kosovo 2.0., while ano<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r group subsequently approached <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

building shouting insults. Police reportedly assisted guests <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> event to<br />

evacuate <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> building. On 15 December, a threatening and abusive video<br />

against <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> LGBT community in Kosovo was released <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Internet, with<br />

two LGBT women defenders being allegedly threatened with death.<br />

Fur<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>rmore, <strong>on</strong> 16 December, members <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Libertas, an LGBT rights<br />

organizati<strong>on</strong> in Kosovo, were physically attacked by a group <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> individuals<br />

as <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>y returned to a meeting <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> organizati<strong>on</strong>, with <strong>on</strong>e individual being<br />

severely beaten. The alleged attackers managed to escape and police were<br />

immediately notified.<br />

informati<strong>on</strong> received, <strong>on</strong> 5 and 6 December 2012 pro President Morsi<br />

groups attacked oppositi<strong>on</strong> protesters. A total <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> five individuals were killed<br />

(Mohamoud Mohamed Ibrahim, Mohamed Khalaf Eissa, Mohamed<br />

Mamdouh Ahmed El Husseiny, Mohamed Mohamed El Senoussi and Dr.<br />

Karam Guirguis), in additi<strong>on</strong> to ano<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r 697 injured. Moreover, three more<br />

deaths have been reported from Al Zahraa Hospital (Hani Mohamed Sayed<br />

Al Imam, Alaa Tewfiq and an unidentified body). It is fur<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r reported that<br />

Security forces did not intervene until late. Engineer Mina Philip Gadwas<br />

was allegedly stripped <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> his clo<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>s and brutally tortured. It has been<br />

alleged that Ola Shebaya, a woman human rights defender, was brutally<br />

beaten, sexually harassed and abducted. Reportedly, pro-government<br />

protesters stated that <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>y arrested two oppositi<strong>on</strong> protesters because <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>y<br />

were found to be Christians. Pro President Morsi groups allegedly attacked<br />

and attempted to destroy <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Satellite transmissi<strong>on</strong> units set up by Egyptian<br />

state televisi<strong>on</strong> to cover <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> protests. Journalist Al Housseiny Abu Deif was<br />

allegedly shot and reported to be in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> hospital, in a highly critical<br />

situati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
