According to <strong>the</strong> information received, in October 2001, Mr. Abdulrahman
Suleiman, a national <strong>of</strong> Yemen, was apprehended by <strong>the</strong> Pakistani authorities and
turned over to <strong>the</strong> United States military. It is alleged that he was tortured in
Kandahar, Afghanistan and <strong>the</strong>n around February 2002 transferred to Guantanamo
Bay where he remains. Mr. Suleiman‘s health is rapidly deteriorating. He is
reportedly suffering from severe pain in <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> his kidneys and appendix. Mr.
Suleiman was examined by a doctor and had x-rays taken. Despite his repeated
complaints, he has allegedly not received adequate medical attention.
Alegaciones del supuesto amedrentamiento de la Radio Candela. Según las
informaciones recibidas, el 31 de julio de 2012, en horas de la mañana, la Radio
Candela habría recibido ―una visita de inspección técnica‖ por parte de tres
funcionarios del ente regulador Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones
(CONATEL). El 26 de julio, Radio Candela habría realizado un acto de rechazo a
la presencia del Presidente Federico Franco en la cuidad de Encarnación, que
habría sido transmitido en directo por la radio, y en el que habrían participado
varias organizaciones de mujeres. Radio Candela es una emisora ciudadana que
pertenece a la Kuña Róga, una organización que trabaja por los derechos de las
mujeres así como en la promoción y defensa de los derechos humanos y los
valores democráticos.
Allegations <strong>of</strong> excessive use <strong>of</strong> force during protests, resulting in <strong>the</strong> death <strong>of</strong> two
children. According to <strong>the</strong> information received, a protest took place in <strong>the</strong> village
<strong>of</strong> Saddad on 28 September 2012. A 17 year old was reportedly shot dead by riot
police who used shotguns whilst dispersing participants. It is alleged by that <strong>the</strong>
death certificate indicates that <strong>the</strong> death was caused by shotgun injuries on <strong>the</strong>
child‘s back, which contradicts <strong>the</strong> authorities‘ statement alleging that he was
killed in <strong>the</strong> context <strong>of</strong> an act <strong>of</strong> self-defence. It is reported that a similar event
took place in Muharraq on 17 August 2012, when a 16-year-old protester died
during clashes between protesters and security forces.
