Section 6: Vaccine Procurement, Distribution, and Use<br />

Local Health Departments:<br />

• Work with the NYSDOH to distribute, deliver, administer, and track prepandemic<br />

vaccine to designated priority groups.<br />

• Keep providers and other health care partners informed about projected<br />

timelines for availability of vaccines.<br />

• Communicate any changes in priority group designations to health care<br />

partners.<br />

• Actively identify and locate priority groups in preparation for the<br />

availability of a vaccine.<br />

Healthcare Partners:<br />

• Work with LHDs to identify priority groups members.<br />

• Communicate priority group designations and changes to patients and staff.<br />

• Actively identify and locate priority groups in preparation for the<br />

availability of a vaccine.<br />

<strong>Pandemic</strong> Period - After a vaccine becomes available<br />

State Health Department:<br />

• Work with LHDs and health care partners to distribute, deliver, administer,<br />

and track pandemic vaccine to priority groups.<br />

• Continue to review and revise priority groups, and communicate changes<br />

and their rationale to LHDs and health care partners.<br />

• Phase-in vaccination of the rest of the population after priority groups<br />

have been vaccinated.<br />
