Terminal function assignment and data setting<br />

• Multi-frequency (0 to 15 steps) --SS1, SS2, SS4, SS8 (Function code data = 0 to 3)<br />

The combination of the ON/OFF states of digital input signals SS1, SS2, SS4 and SS8 selects one of 16 different<br />

frequency commands defined beforehand by 15 function codes C05 to C19 (Multi-frequency 0 to 15). With this,<br />

the inverter can drive the motor at 16 different preset frequencies. Refer to C05 through C19.<br />

• Acceleration / deceleration time --RT1, RT2 (Function code data = 4 and 5)<br />

Selects acceleration / deceleration times using terminal functions, see page 4-38.<br />

• Enable 3-wire operation –HLD (Function code data = 6)<br />

Turning this terminal command ON self-holds the forward FWD or reverse REV run command, to enable 3-wire<br />

inverter operation. Refer to F02.<br />

• Coast to a stop -- BX (Function code data = 7)<br />

Turning this terminal command ON immediately shuts down the inverter output so that the motor coasts to a stop<br />

without issuing any alarms.<br />

• Reset alarm -- RST (Function code data = 8)<br />

Turning this terminal command ON clears the ALM state--alarm output (for any fault). Turning it OFF erases the<br />

alarm display and clears the alarm hold state.<br />

When activating the RST command ON, keep it ON for 10 ms or more. This command should be kept OFF for the<br />

normal inverter operation.<br />

• Enable external alarm trip -- THR (Function code data = 9)<br />

Turning this terminal command OFF immediately shuts down the inverter output (so that the motor coasts to a<br />

stop), displays the alarm 0h2, and outputs the alarm relay (for any fault) ALM. The THR command is self-held, and<br />

is reset when an alarm reset takes place.<br />

Use this alarm trip command from external equipment when immediately shutting down the inverter<br />

output in the event of an abnormal situation in peripheral equipment.<br />

• Ready for jogging –JOG (Function code data = 10)<br />

This terminal command is used to jog or inch the motor for positioning a work piece. Turning this command ON<br />

makes the inverter ready for jogging. Refer to C20.<br />

• Select frequency command 2/1 -- Hz2/Hz1 (Function code data = 11)<br />

Turning this terminal command ON and OFF switches the frequency command source between frequency<br />

command 1 (F01) and frequency command 2 (C30). Refer to F01.<br />

• Select motor 2 -- M2 (Function code data = 12)<br />

The combination of digital input terminal commands M2, M3 and M4 switches to any of the 1st to 4th motors.<br />

When the motor is switched, the function code group with which the inverter drives the motor is also switched to<br />

the one corresponding to the motor. Refer to A42.<br />
