MIDDLETOWN.<br />

A Village in the township of West Gwlllimbury, two miles west of Bradford,<br />

on the Bond Head road, contains about fifty inhabitants. There is a good<br />

and <strong>com</strong>fortable tavei'n, one blacksmith, one wheelwright, one shoemaker, one<br />

carpenter.<br />

MILFORD.<br />

A small Village in the south-west corner of the township of Marj^sburgh.<br />

It contains about 100 inhabitants, grist and saw mill, one blacksmith, one shoe<br />

maker, one tailor.<br />

MILL CREEK.<br />

A Village in the township of Ernestown, situated on the eastern road thirteen<br />

miles Avest from Kingston, contains about 150 inhabitants, who have a Catholic<br />

clim-ch.<br />

Post Office, post every day.<br />

null, planing machine, two stores, three taverns, two tailors, two shoemakers.<br />

MILLBROOK.^<br />

A Village in the township of Cavan, situated a little south of the centre of<br />

tlie township. It contains about 250 inhabitants, who have a Methodist chapel.<br />

Professiutis and Trades.—Two physicians and surgeons, one grist and saw<br />

mill, one distillery, one tannery, four stores, two taverns, two waggon makers,<br />

four blacksmiths.<br />

MILLE ROCHES.<br />

A Village in the township of Cornwall, five miles from the town ot Cornwall.<br />

It is situated between the River St. Lawrence and the Cornwall canal. It was<br />

once flourishing, biit the formation of the Cornwall Canal has cut it off from<br />

the surrounding countiy. A quarry of splendid black lime stone, resembling<br />

black marble, and which takes a beautiful polish, is situated close to the village.<br />

Mille Roches contains a grist and saw mill, carding machine and fulUng rnill^<br />

and two stores.<br />

MILLVILLE, OR ELLOTT'S MILLS.<br />

A small Village in the township of Darlington, six miles north of Bowman<br />

ville. It contains about 150 inliabitauts, grist and saw mill, two stores, one<br />

tavern, one blacksmitli, one tixilor, one shoemaker.<br />

MIMICO.<br />

A Village in the township of Etobicoke, situated on Dundas Street, on the<br />

Etobicoke Creek, nine miles and a half from Toronto. It contains about 150<br />

inliabitanls. A neat Wesleyan chapel is erected, and an Episcopal chm'ch is in<br />

course of erection.<br />

Jliniico contains two saw-mills, one store, one physician and surgeon, two<br />

tiiveiTiB, one blacksmith, one butcher, one baker, two shoemakers, two wheelwrights<br />

and waggon makers, two carpenters and joiners, one tailor.
