WESTMEATH.<br />
A Township in the Bathurst District; is bounded on 'he east by the Ottawa<br />
River; on the north-west by the township of Pembroke; on the south-west by<br />
Stafford ; and on the south-east by Ross. In Westmeath 15,803 acres are taken<br />
up, 1,684 of which are under cultivation. Westmeath is as yet but little settled,<br />
and 34,200 acres of Crown lands are open for sale in it, at 8*. currency per acre..<br />
There are two saw mills in the township.<br />
