MONO.<br />
A ToMTisliip in the Siincoe District ; is bounded on the north by the township<br />
of ^lulmer; on the west by Amaranth, on the south by Garafraxa and Caledon;<br />
aiid on the east by Adjala. In Mono 28,229 acres are taken up, 3108 of which<br />
axe under cultivation. There are some well cultivated farms in the township,<br />
some of which have good orchards, but a large portion of the township is hilly<br />
and sandy. In some parts the land is so high, as to give a view of the toMnshlp<br />
of Essa. On about the centre of the town hne between Mono and Adjala there<br />
are some good limestone quarries, but they are not as yet much worked. Four<br />
thousand nine hundred acres of Crown lands are open for sale in Mono, at 8a.<br />
c'y per acre. There are two grist mills and one taonerj" iii the township.<br />
Population in 1842, 1020.<br />

MONTAGUE.<br />
A Township in the Bathurst District ; is boimded on the north-east by the<br />
township of JMarlborough ; on the north-west by Beckwith ; on the south-west by<br />
North and South Elmsley, and on the south-east by Wolford. In Montague<br />
Si*.303 acres are taken up, 7498 of which are under cultivation. There is a fair<br />
proportion of good land in the township, and many well-cultivated farms ; timber,<br />
11 liiixture of pine and hard wood. In Montague 1000 acres of Crown lands ai'e<br />
open for sale, at 8a-. c'y per aci-e. There are three saw-miils ia the tow nship.<br />
Population in 1842, 2097, who are principally Scotch.<br />

MOORE.<br />
A Township iu the county of Kent; bounded on the north by the township of<br />
Sarnia; on the west by the river St. Clair; on the south hy Sombra; and on the<br />
east by Enniskillen. In Moore 19,192 acres are taken up, of Avhich 1901 are<br />
under cultivation. The soil is, generally, of excellent quality. There is a tamarac<br />
swamp in the south-east corner of the township, two miles long, and one mile<br />
broad. In the township are the villages of Froomefield, Sutherlands, and<br />
Corunna. There is also a store and wood-wharf on the river, seven miles and<br />
a-half below Port Sarnia. The front of the township, along tiie river, is well<br />
settled. Two thousand nine hundred acres of Crown lauds are open for sale<br />
in Moore, at 8s. c'y per acre.<br />

MORNINGTON.<br />
A Township in the Wellington District, formerly a portion of what was<br />
called "Queen's Bush"; is bounded on the north-east by the township of Maryborough;<br />
on the north-west by uusurveyed lands; on the south-west by Ellice,<br />
and on the south-east by 'Wellesley. Morningtou has only lately been surveyed<br />
and laid out, and no retui-n has yet been made from it.<br />
MORPETH, OK JAMESVILLE.<br />
A Village in the township of Howard, pleasantly situated on Talbot road, in<br />
tlie midst of a beautifully undulating country ; one mile and a-half from Lake<br />
Erie, (.'ontains a post-oilice, jjost three times a-week; three stores, two taverns,<br />
t\ro blacksmiths, one distillery, one cabinet maker, one tailor, two carpenters.<br />
MOSA.<br />
A Township in the Loudon District; is bounded on the north-east by Ekfrid<br />
and Brooke; on the Mcst by lirooke and Zone; and on the south-east by the<br />
